Question about how often to clean my 1522
Ok, so I just broke it in yesterday, loved it. Bought a brick of 525 CCI Blazer for $20, pretty accurate and precise out of the box. I shot off around 200 rounds, lost track because my brother and cousin also shot it. Now my question is how often do you guys clean it? I inspected the bolt assembly today, noticed it was a little dirty, I'm guessing it's powder? There was some along the bolt assembly, inside the upper receiver where the bolt goes, and in the lower receiver where the magazine goes. Should I clean it out and oil it after each use?

Now that question is a can of worms my friend. Some say after every trip to the range others say never and some say something inbeween. Every shooter has his or hers own opinions on this and truth be known you are going to need to make that decision yourself based on information you search here in this forum.
I only clean mine every 100-200 rounds.
Guess I should have added I may only do 50 rounds at a time at the range or hunting so I keep track until I get around the 100-200 mark but no more than that before I clean it. I always clean it before putting it away for the winter no matter what as I don't use the 15-22 during that time of year.

I try to clean mine about every 100-200 rounds also, which usually is every other time I shoot. If it's going to be a longer interval between sessions, I at least run a bore snake through the barrel and brush out the chamber.

I "clean" the feed ramp, bolt/breech face, and inside the upper every 250 or so rounds, just to get the built up crud out. Generally just brush it out with a toothbrush. Every 1000 or so a run a bore snake through it, if accuracy wanders, and around 2500 she might get a detailed cleaning depending on how cruddy she is. Definitely after 5000 detailed.

Sidewinder nailed it. The answer your looking for is a matter of opinion more than fact.
With that said... I thoroughly clean every firearm after every usage. Just a habit I developed over time. I have too much time and money invested in my collection to not take care of them. It only takes about ten minutes to clean one, so no big deal.

I will usually shoot about 500 rounds a range session, and then clean after every session (even if I don't shoot all 500). I just don't like my guns being dirty. It also makes sure that they are lubed and ready to go for the next session, or zombie invasion.

I normally clean after each use, which is usually 250 or so rounds.
No one freak out, but I wanted to test my 15-22 when I first had it. I shot almost 1500 rounds before I notice a few (very few) failures.
