check 2 things.
1) are you loading the mag correctly (seating properly)
2) have you tried a different magazine

So it jams on the last round when you load 5? What happens when you load 10?

I believe the blue spring you are referring to is not for the magazine but the blue spring on the newer 15-22 bolt.

Maybe it's the type of ammo you're shooting. I just unloaded 300+ rounds of CCI Blazer and had ZERO FTF's and ZERO FTE's.

not sure what you mean by red spring assist. are you talking about the orange follower? is this a short mag, or a long one?

2 things come to mind here...
1) magazine loading procedure...research it just to ensure you are doing it properly--it is easy to glitch up
2) the more probable is that you have a defective magazine...thats where my money is...i suggest buying 3-4 new mags off 44mag.com and seeing if that cures it ( not to mention your thumb and forefinger will thank you!)

fill the mag, let it sit for a few days, then remove 1/2 and see if you still have problems, i've had issues with stiff springs on new mags before, and the shorty 10rd is much tighter than the long 10rd, or even the 25rd ones i got.
