Hoggr9, Aimpoint comes close to what you want with the ML3 and the batt. last 5 years (great electronics). Trijicon has that self elimunating plastic rod over the top of the scope shell, but again $1,400.+ ouch, wife would kill me, opps, don't have a wife, still, I have a problem putting a optics that cost more than my rifle. Now if I'm in the military, and my life depends on it, that's another story.... I'd also rather purchase another rifle and get the Aimpoint, and that is what I did. I built the my second AR15 from ground up and spent $580. Not bad consider I'm in Commifornia.

I got the Aimpoint ML3, with my uses, it may go 10 years. My son, how is in the Army, said the guys that go to the field have the ML3's and they leave it on 24 hours for a year, if it's good enough for the US Army, I'll buy it and save $500 from the getting the Trijicon Acog.

If it doesn't have to be magnified (zero mag) you could go with a Trijicon RMR Dual Illumination Sight for $550 (Retail)
