they are fun and do work as advertized. it takes a little time to find the "sweet spot" but when you do, you will be loading more than shooting! my buddie has one on his 9mm colt ar, and it burns those 30 rd stick mags fast!

lol, looks like he might have been wrong! that sure worked fine for them! I like how the local Deputy was looking like, that thing a full auto?? lol
I still think they are gonna be banned, ATF is bound to get their panties in a bunch over them eventually.

I put one on my CAR. It works as specified. Not a helluva lot of actual usfulness, but fun to rip through a bunch of ammo once & a while.

i payed $420 for my 15-22, there is no way on God's green Earth that I would pay $350 for a stock for it, unless it came with 83% of another 15-22

Well yeah... but the SlideFire isn't restricted for use on a 15-22, it can be used on any AR platform.
It's not uncommon for folks to have a $1k or more in their 15-22 (including the cost of the rifle) and some a lot more than that.
Grab a calculator-- MSRP
YHM Wraith $325 + $200 tax stamp
Laserlyte $275
Primary Arms red dot $179
MBUS $98
Barrel Threads $50
AFG $30
Hogue $15
CTR Stock $80 (on my Bushmaster now)
+ $420 for the rifle would be.... $1672.00
With the exception of the can, everything can be used on my Bushmaster which is one of the advantages of getting a 15-22 in the first place.
$300 SlideFire? A mere pittance...

You can't be serious? This is a gimmick to imitate full auto. Don't expect good control or accuracy. When shooting through a wall or window could mean hitting a family member or neighbor, accuracy and well placed shots are a MUST. Spray and pray is not a good idea for home defense.

Yeah if you want great home defense, use a scatter gun. The Slide Fire is to go out and play like you have a full auto, without having to shell out 15K for a pre-ban M16. SlideFire actually sent one of these to the ATF and the ATF came back with a letter stating they do not find this to be a device the causes the rifle to fire full auto and therefore is legal. Slide Fire has the letter posted on their web site.

I would tend to agree but then again if accuracy and well placed shots are the goal you wouldn't want to use any full automatic weapon. Maybe a double tap.
As far as the slide fire stocks go I don't think accuracy is even implied. I think they are just a legal, for now, way to let someone experience "full auto". I have to admit full auto however impractical in civilian life can bring a smile to ones face.

Depends on your financial outlook. $1672 is one half month's pay for an E-5 in the Navy (after my deductions for Housing and such) so to me, that's out of the question. For others, (like you mentioned) its no big deal. I would love to put a 1200 Acog on my 15-22, but until one falls off a truck on my street, I'll use the $30 Barska one.

I hear ya. Though, paying $500 for a plastic .22 isn't exactly the definition of frugal.

I guess most folks here don't remember Remington's Nylon 66. Of course, firearms were cheaper then, but in today's dollars, it would go for at least $500.

I remember. in fact I have a Nylon 66. When my grandfather passed away years ago I inherited his that he bought in the 60's. I shot many a round through that .22 as a teenager and not only was it a great looking gun it was accurate and very reliable.

It may be cool, but it seems an expensive way to burn up a lot of expensive ammo. I admit the urge to go full rock and roll is there, but that thing costs almost as much as the gun, and for the 15-22, well I burn enough ammo just the way it is. A 550 bulk pack would last about five minutes with that thing. At that rate, .22 bulk isn't cheap anymore. 'Cause ya just can't shoot one box.

True, they were around $50 when they first came out (though I wasn't buying guns then... was wearing diapers) which was a lot of money at the time. Times and guns have changed. You can get a plastic Remington 597 today for around $200 which would be frugal compared to spending $500.

That's what some folks say about the 15-22. I guess that makes the SlideFiore a perfect match.

They are a bit pricy for putting on the 15-22 but they were meant to go on the big brother AR platforms. .223 full auto would be very expensive, and now they have the same thing for certain AK-47s even more expensive. But I bet it would be fun.

A LGS owner that happens to be my buddy put one on his AR and said it was amazing how fast it fired. However, he said he couldn't get it to work on his 15-22 no matter what he fed it. I offered him $150 for it.........still waiting.

I shot a 15-22 with the SSAR-15 SBS yesterday.
I have stated before that the price was too high($350.00), for something that just burned more ammo.
I might have to re-think that opinion some.
It took a little practice, too get the hang of firing it. But once I did get the hang of it I could shoot 3-5 round bumps. We were using a reflex green dot, and could hold on target pretty well. .22LR is pretty easy to handle. There were 4 of us there and we went through 500 rounds pretty quick. We had to let the barrel cool off, and reload mags a few times.
The SSAR-15 does have a switch that goes back to semi-auto fire. The owner took it off the 15-22 and reinstalled it on his Bushmaster AR-15. Took about 10 minites to transfer from one to the other.
Everybody had fun! There were simles all around.
The fun and cool factor might be worth $350.00.
Still thinking about it.

I handled one of these stocks in late Nov. and I couldn;t justify the $350.00 expenditure! Chattanogaphil, I have a question about your statement that your suppressor couldn't be used on your bushmaster, The suppressor tax stamp that you have is for the suppressor not for a specific firearm, unless your bushmaster has different thread diameter or the suppressor was specifically made for .22 rimfire, you can move the suppressor from one firearm to another as long as the bore diameter is the same. I have threaded several barrels for suppressors , and most are 1/2"X28 and the last one I did I think was 5/8"x24. The 1/2"X28 fits most 5.56/.223 rifles the 5/8"X24 is for .308 . You would probably have to use a spacer but it should fit.

I'm in for one. Found a deal for under $300 shipped.
What is the consensus on how to lighten the trigger? Drop in replacement or just change out the springs?

From what I have read there is a V1 and V2 version.
The V2 does not require modification to it the M&P 15-22's trigger guard.
Hopefully I will be receiving the V2. If not, I heard that Slide Fire Solutions will swap it out for free.

I watched your video. From some of the other videos I have seen people seem to have better results not gripping the vertical grip. Maybe try to lightly hold in front of the mag well. That technique seems to get good results.

Mine should be here tomorrow. I just installed the JP 3.5lb yellow springs and it made a noticeable difference.
I am almost sure I am getting the V1 SSAR-15 so I will have to shave it down to fit around the trigger guard.

I bought one when they first came out...didn't and still don't have a AR15 but this is one of those you might want to buy why it's still legal if you have the chance...or at least that was my line of thinking. Of course that could change any day and new law could make it illegal for even current owners.
I'm actually in the process of selling it to a friend, but have tried it out on his gun a fun doesn't begin to describe...until you factor in 223 ammo cost!!
Reason I wanted to reply though is I installed it on my 15-22 and it didn't work...at all. Wasn't anything to with the trigger or trigger guard but lack of recoil to reset the stock/trigger and binding on the "gas tube". Maybe the new version is different and if it is I will be using the money from selling my current SSAR15 bump to buy the .22 version!
Would love to hear from someone who actually owns a .22 version and has been able to get more out of it than a 3-round burst?
I'll have to start reading up on it

...ok so I might've been wrong. Just started watching one of the videos posted about the bump on the 15-22 and now that I think about it the trigger guard could have been where the binding occurred! It's been awhile so didn't remember exactly...and I misinterpreted the trigger/trigger guard probably I think.
Can anyone who's been following the .22 adaptation of this stock tell me if there is a newer version or is this still the original design? It sounds like a little modifying and then the bump stock I have might work?? If so I wont be selling it lol.
Thanks

If it is the old version, you will need to modify it.
The new version is made to work with winter trigger guards (the type that your M&P 15-22 has).
