Most power tools come with a case. So you'll put your power drill in a case before your weapon?
Plus it helps getting it from point A to B.
Thread was very helpful, ive been looking for a case.

Rifle Case: For M&P 15/22..
I got mine from Optics Planet for $25.99 . It is a "Bulldog"
35" Extreme Blk. Tactical Case. This case has the following features;
* Heavy Duty water resistant outer shell (It Floats! )
* Heat resistant inner lining (won't stick to barrels)
* Extra thick 25mm padding
* Extra large zippered accessory pocket
* Extra magazine pouches w/Velcro flaps (4)
* Heavy Duty oversized zippers
* Adjustable shoulder strap
I luv this case, with a little ingenuity you can load up most everything you need for a trip to the range .

I recommend a tactical rifle/shotgun case by Boyt. They are about 40" long and 16" wide, made of heavy nylon fabric with a heavy zipper with double pulls. The case is stiff enough to hold its shape, despite irregular contents, but not unnecessarily heavy and bulky like a hard case. I have several Boyt products for firearms and travel, and the quality of construction is very good. At least one suitcase has survived dozens of international trips. Pricey, but worth the money. I got mine from Midway USA.

Started with one of these for my Rem 597, but it was kind of long:
http://www.midwayusa.com/product/939...with-6-pockets
Then I got one of these to carry more stuff:
http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/c....aspx?a=862764
Then I found one of the Blackhawk Sporter bags at Dick's and it was a perfect fit for my PC competition 15-22. Then the second one became the bag for my 3-gun AR-15 and the first came back to be used for my 597 VTR tactical precision rimfire rifle. so now everyone is happy.

Agreed. I have the same case. It works great.

I picked up a Swiss Arms 33" Nylon double rifle case at a gun show for $35 and it JUST barely fits my 15-22A1 that has a Magpul ACS stock which is an inch or so longer than the standard M4 stock.
EDIT:
The main compartments are 32" long internally.

Just received my Midway 35" rectangular tactical bag in the OD Green. I am extremely pleased with the looks, construction, and especially the multiple strap system inside to keep the M&P 15-22 exactly where I want it. Got lots of magazine pockets, and two large inside zippered sections for target, etc. Very sturdy built, not cheap and flimsy like some other cases I saw locally before ordering this one. And the best thing is that it was on sale for $39.

My wife got me a Midway Range bag for Christmas and it is fantastic! So many pockets, dividers, pouches. It really has a lot of nice features. I was really blown away when I opened it up and saw all that it had to offer. With that said my last range bag was a 80's gym bag with no pockets, no frills, no strap.....No good is what it was.

Here's the one I posted....as you can see its a little long and after carrying it around a few times I wouldn't really recommend it unless you have a long rifle to carry around. The extra space is nice I guess.
$50 at Academy if you're interested.

after seeing all the "deals" everyone was getting i was a bit dismayed when the 'sales' & whatnot still wound up to $40 & up even for the most basic cases after taxes and/or shipping. Then, i LUCKED OUT when i went to pick up my 15-22 from the dealer & found/picked up this basic hardshell case for a cool $15 flat. she's a little long but fits the extra mags so all's well that ends well :

I don't want everybody to know what I am carrying, so this is how I carry my M&P 15-22 (I'll sometimes stick a handgun or two in place of a magazine):

Like DelFuego I like being discreet and use a similar bag. Being smaller makes it easier to carry on the motorcycle also.

There is definitely something to be said for breaking the 15-22 down & carrying it as such - though that 'kick brass' logo, while cool, isn't very discrete.
Seriously though, it's a great idea - one I wish I had seen before I bought my case (which means I'll have to buy another case. )

The bag also has backstraps so you can carry it like a bookbag which i like a lot.

most civilized ranges do not appreciate it if you walk around with a firearm outside its holster/bag.
anyways, the condor bags are truly awesome.
got a 36" one for my 15-22 and fits perfectly/snugly, with a suppressor.

AMEN.
If you show up at my range with an unholstered/uncased firearm you are asked to return it to the vehicle. Off the firing line, unholstered/uncased firearms are simply not allowed. And the range is conspicuously posted to that effect at the entrance to the parking lot.

Not necessarily strapped in the correct location. I just threw them in for a pic.
Midway USA single bag. Mag pouches are small and inner lining is like cheesecloth. I ripped two of these bags in a week. I will never buy them again.
Ebay bag. Not sure who makes it.
Ebay bag. I can't remember a brand name, but they are made in the USA and sold by a guy named holsterman. This is my favorite bag I own. The mag pouches are large enough to fit my AK mags no problem. The inside is tough and hasn't ripped yet, even though I slide my AK in from the back every once in awhile and can feel some snagging.
I missed out on the Plano sale at WM.
|
That eBay case is nice, I've found it and would like to pick one up, can I ask what length you have?
Thanks

Not even with a chamber flag in? My local range is pretty good if you've got a flag in or your o/u is broken open. Pistols in holsters though....
