What 22s have you owned before you got the 15-26?
I had a Mossberg M46 my dad "loaned" to me back in the late 60s, but I ended up giving it to my older brother about 20 years ago.
I know the gun was old, and you pulled a rod out of the stock and fed the 22 LR through the end.
It was a semi auto, and OK to shoot.
Every once in awhile it would fire off two shots with one pull of the trigger
Something must have been wrong with it.
I found a little info on this gun online just now.
I do not have any pics of the one I had.
Info on Mossberg 46M(b) - TheFirearmsForum.Com
It would be the one in the top of this picture, and the pic shows a catalog from 1948.
Dangit, I meant 15-22, not 15-26

What's a 15-26? LOL, JK
I've had the Mossberg Tac 22, gifted to the GF
GSG-522 PK
GSG-5 carbine with a sidefolding stock
GSG-5 carbine was the most fun of them, since my PK had a bullet button, stupid CA gun laws.
Pics
If I ever move to a free state I will probably buy another GSG-522 PK since it was a great gun overall, just hated that dang bullet button.

Old Mossberg, Remington Nylon 66, Ruger 10/22, Ruger 77/22. I still have the two Rugers.
I forgot my grandson's .22 Cricket.

I have the same rifle, and you're exactly right, when it comes to accuracy, it'll chew up and spit out ANY modern plastic gun without even trying hard. We've given up a lot with this "progress" everyone's so enamored with. Don't get me wrong, I've got a "black gun" too, but no matter how much junk someone clamps onto one, it's still just a machine. That Remington is a rifle. Thanks for reminding me of the treasure in my gun case!

Winchester model 62a
Ruger 77/22
Ruger 10/22
Walther P22
I sold the p22 and 77/22 to family members, but still have the other two. I want to buy my 77/22 back asap. It was a nice tack-driver.

The Mossberg 46 is a bolt action rifle.
Mossberg 22 LR Models and Specifications
Couldn't find any info on a semi auto 46...
I grew up on a Remington Nylon 12 (still have in the family).
I've had tons of rimfire's over the years...
All are gone except my Ruger Mark 3 and the 15-22.
I'm now on the hunt for Marlin 39a(s)...
I've got the lever bug bad!
I'm also looking for vintage Smiths and Rugers in .22lr

Mine looked like the 46, but now I remember there was no bolt.
It has a round knurled knob you pulled back one to charge it once, them it was semi auto after that.
Will have to hunt later for the correct model number.

Since we are listing pistols, here's the addendum to my list:
High Standard Trophy Supramatic
Ruger Mark 2
S&W Mod34
All currently in the vault, and probably a half dozen others at one time or another that I no longer have. The High Standard has had 35k (at least) through it and it will still put 10 rounds in 3/4" at 25 yards from a machine rest. The 14 oz trigger probably helps.
