Point to point on the star is 1.5".

I have a 10-22 with a fluted Green Mountain barrel and a 30 year old Tasco 6-18 scope.
This was part of a political sign that Charlie has a lot of after loosing a run for state senate.
The 10 shot group was fired at 100 yds.
The additional dents are the result of my puppy thinking that my target was a chew toy.[/QUOTE]

Cool now we have a 10-22 to compare to thank you

I have found the accuracy of my 15-22 to be excellent. I had an extended range session with it the other day which I am going to post to my YouTube channel soon in which I zeroed my micro dot at 25 yards on paper and then shot several magazines from 100 and 200 yards at a 12 inch steel plate. I was pleasantly surprised that hitting the 100 yard plate was remarkably easy and hitting the 200 yard plate was probably 8 out of 10 times. This was done with no magnification and lying prone resting on the mag. Needless to say, I was .

Will post video for viewing pleasure when I done editing.

ETA: I forgot to say, when i zeroed the micro dot, i just shot 5 shots in fairly rapid succession from a front rail sandbag and the results were close to 1 MOA. I have zero doubt that with a magnified scope and good technique this rifle is capable of 1 MOA accuracy and sub-MOA with some attention to detail.

Default Update

Here's a group at 50 yds. The rifle is zeroed for 75 yds, so I had to compensate a little. The ammunition was Winchester Xpert HV 36 grain bulk. I don't like this ammo, but it was I had today.

I have not shot my PC model at anything above 35 yards since I use it for speed steel competition. But I do not expect it to be as good as my custom Remington 597 VTR with its 1.5# Jard trigger and its compensated Volquartsen carbon-fiber bull barrel. That gun will shoot a single unraged hole at 25 yards and a slightly raged hole at 50 yards off a rest. If I can get my PC model off the rest to shoot 10 in the black at 100 yards I would be happy. Will try it this summer against the 597 using CCI-SV.

This is me warming up with my first 40 rounds for the day. Iron sights+near-sided hehe:

Was only at 20 feet, though ahah. Indoor range that goes back to 50 feet. This was my last shots with it for the day. The diamond on the left was at 50 ft including a few controlled pairs towards the final 20. I need to shoot more often, I can get it much tighter than that.

As promised, i put together a video with a quick overview of the 15-22 with high points and low points, and some range time. I am HIGHLY pleased with the accuracy considering I zeroed very quickly, put down a couple of 5 shot groups on paper, and then moved out to 100, 200 yards to shoot steel.

this is last night at 75 yards with CCI SV's; these are 3" targets. I installed the JP Yellow springs this week and wanted to give it a quick go before I do my .22 tactical sniper event this weekend

it got to dark before I could move out to 100

btw, this was shot with a bipod

ignore the 3 misses up at the top left, i was aiming there

Heheh. Hey, sorry man! I wanted to go to a range close to me. There's an outdoor range near me that charges $30 for 2 hours (with a 100 yard range)...Wasn't in the mood to pay that and the other outdoor ones are much farther and up in the mountains. Don't feel like going by myself, just in case. I took that exact same target to that expensive range and I couldn't see the diamond at 100 yards at all =/ As I mentioned, I start at 20 feet at that indoor range to 'warm up'. I'm not going to shoot that great after a month of not shootin'. I also like checking my targets after 20-40 shots.

I keep buying guns, ammo, or other gun-related things when I'm missing the most valuble accessory for me: Prescription lenses! I'm going to order some soon.

I'm going to order some soon.
wow thats alot of cheese to shoot i pay 5.00 per hour there a 100/200/300 range plus a tactical gun and automatic slots and target clay to shoot on 195 acres

CA is expensive I'm looking at joining a shooting club which has it's own private range with distances up to 700 feet? yards? Forgot. 700 something It's $180 a year but when you first join, there's an initiation fee of $180 as well. Would take 25 minutes to get there and I can draw from a holster n' other cool things at any hour of the day

What club? That's a good deal, that's what I pay for my club out in NC. I never found a club that cheap when I was in cali

West End Gun Club in southern California. It's kind of close to Lytle Creek(same area)

Took grandson to range today and he blew through 500+ rounds and couldn't get the 15-22 smile off face. I did have the chance to do a comparative shoot with my bull barrel 10-22 @ about 80 yards. Was using Fed 525's HV/HP's. Results the 25 round groups were very similar about 3" spread. Would have thought the Ruger would have shot a little better. By the way the 3 x 12 scope on the Ruger was crank up all the way as compared to the 1 x 4 on the 15-22 (to be frank I don't know what that scope was set at). Given the differences in scopes the 15-22 held its own. There were no FTF/FTF during this shoot. Now I gotta get that 15-22 smile off the kid's face.

Enjoy it while you can….they grow up fast...won’t be long before the smiles change to saying he’s packing an extra 25 rounder in is pocket!

I don't know that this little game has anything to do with accuracy, but it was fun. This is from last night at the indoor range...15 yards. I took a hole punch to these cards and tried to put a .22 slug from the M&P15-22 cleanly through the hole. No dice last night but you can see I came pretty close with the 9 of diamonds.

Give it try if you like, but you only get one shot per card!

My 15 year old daughter, using a Ruger model 77-22, Simmons scope, and the cheap Remington "Thunder Bolt" ammo. A lot depends on the firearm .

My 77/22 shoots groups like that too, but the discussion is the accuracy of the M&P 15-22, not the Ruger 77/22 or other rifles.

I have to say that the extra weight helps. The shroud I made is I guess over made. 1.35 round about 2 inch long on the end cap. But it helps, .22 not much recoil but now unless I move the barrel doesn't move at all from the shots being fired. I will try bench resting next time.
