Just got my 15-22 on friday.
Just got my 15-22 on friday and fired about 300 rounds of federal 550 bulk and 300 rounds of winchester 550 bulk from walmart. The federal had a couple of problems with FTF and FTE but the winchester had so much problems with FTF and FTE. I was dissappointed with the winchester ammo because almost every bullet tip was loose and can be wobble around. By the way i cleaned and lubed my 15-22 prior to taking it out to the range.
What is the best cheap bulk ammo you guys recommend? For now i think that the federal 550 from walmart is pretty good but im looking for something better for about the same price or a tad bit higher.

My 15-22's diet...
Congrats on your purchase, and welcome to the "sickness" (i can now understand why it is called as such)
#1 (and by far my fav)...
CCI "Tactical" - ~$21/375 @ my local Cabelas
Cleanest, no failures/fte/ftl issues in ~400 rounds
#2 ....
Federal "Champion" - ~$20/525 @ my local Cabelas
Only 2 fte issues in ~500 rounds

If you're looking for a good brick of ammo that's cheap, easy to find, and works well check out the federal automatch, 375 rounds for $15 at walyworld. They have done well in my 15-22. They are clean and reliable. I PREFER CCI but they are a little more pricey but they are super clean and reliable so I dont mind the extra skrilla.
Say, does your rifle have the blue springs in the trigger and bolt? Mine was very ammo finicky until I sent it back to S&W "out of battery detonation damaged my rifle" and when I got it back it shoot EVERYTHING flawlessly.
I dont use dirty cheap remmington ammo though, ever.

yes my 15-22 have the blue spring on the bolt and trigger...talking about dirty cheap ammo, i think the winchester 555 at walmart are the worst. The tip are so loose and wobbles around. As much negative that i heard from the remington rounds i dont think i want to waste the money on trying them. Whats the difference between the federal 550 bulk and the federal automach 375 rounds?

i think the auto match are solid point with no copper plating.
the bulk is hollow point with a copper plating on it.
also try the federal bulk champion 525 they slightly different than the 550 box.

CCI has Blazer in 525 round packs and Tactical in 375 round packs.
Although I prefer just to shoot the Federal 550, because it's always available for around $16 a box and my rifle likes them.

Ran 350 rounds Saturday like a charm. Not one jam. Federal 40gr solids. Bulk pack 500 for $17.00.

I have at least 3000 rounds of the Federal 550 boxes from Wal-Mart through mine with maybe 2 or 3 FTF. Just throw them back the next mag and they fire. No issues at all with several thousand mixed CCI Mini Mag, CCI Tactical or Winchester Super Speeds.

[QUOTE=kercha83;136292553]Just got my 15-22 on friday and fired about 300 rounds of federal 550 bulk and 300 rounds of winchester 550 bulk from walmart. The federal had a couple of problems with FTF and FTE but the winchester had so much problems with FTF and FTE. QUOTE]
I've had the same problems the last couple of times out. The Fed. bulk pack are failing to fire (maybe 1 out of 25) and the Winchester 333 pack is failing to feed (about the same rate). My gun is a late model with the blue springs.
