Yes, but requires a special barrel nut and tools found at tacticool22.com. You will also need a front handguard cap and something to keep the cap in place, like a front site block like one from here. In other words, you can do it but it will be a lot more involved than on an AR15.

Yes it will, but as yeti said, you will need some stuff from tacticool22 and Trueshot. You will also need a deltaring assembly and a front cap.

results on my 15-22:

It's not as cool as an SBR, but here's mine with the Tacticool22 adapter and TruShot A2 front sight.

It's different, and it looks really cool. I like it. I think I would go with the mid length mode if I were to do it though.

Is this something a person can do on their own or does a gunsmith have to be involved for putting on the front post sight? I was wondering if anyone makes a rail block as opposed to the front post sight?

yeah its cool looking but i agree with the midlength set up or maybe even a dissapater look would be cool but the car length only looks good for an sbr set up IMHO, the biggest selling point for me was its super light weight,,,, how much weight is being added with all the spare parts,,,,, i also wouldnt do this without the front sight atleast being able to be folded,,,or a railed gas block

I don't haha. For my future real AR-15, I bought this:

I'm too lazy to want to change out the handguard on the M&P. I just cover up the rails with the XTM panels. Would be cool if they come up with a 15-22 that looks like the M&P15 sport.

nathan I was thinking the same thing. It seems to me that the standard M4-ish AR that comes with a handguard and front sight and most people at least me and other people i see, would love the R to come standard like the 15-22 comes, full front rail etc. and the capability to throw on BUIS, optics, and rail sections/foregrip etc.

But bec. everyone has that, people want to change their 15-22 to a more basic setup with a radical change lol? Cracks me up. But hey do your thang no problems here.
