Default Camo yes or no. Its up to you

Well guys I've been thinking of doing a camo on my gun, but not sure if i have the balls to go through with it.

So I'm going to leave it up to you.

This is my design: (I can replicate the digital design 1 on 1 on the gun).

Im not going to camo the Aimpoint as I plan on putting it on a G36 somewhere next summer.

The most effective camo isn't a woodland pattern. The most effective camo I've seen is a solid base coat with sponge-applied secondary and tertiary colors. It's almost digital, except you don't have the pain in the butt involved with applying stencils.

BTW, you should also consider painting the barrel.

its not about effectiveness, its about looks.

We cant use these guns outside the range, so no need for an effective camo.

That is one of the best looking camo jobs I have seen. Its subtle enough to not look obnoxious, but enough of a difference where it is worth doing. I love it! If you don't do it, I might....

Are these the only two options we have to live vicariously through your weapon? I came into this as a black gun only fan but the FDE is really starting to look good to me.

Thumbs up

I must say, that it makes me want to go buy another MP15-22 and paint it, just to display it in my home office.
Do it and document the whole painting process, come back and post the pictures.

Well I hate to be a wet blanket and I can tell you are leaning toward doing the camo anyway. But to me although the camo does look good when new like most camo it wears off on all the high parts and I don't like the look of the worn off camo beatup look. I use my gun too much and would be redoing the camo every couple of months to keep it looking good now if you are just going to show it off and keep it in a safe that would be the only time I would camo. I am sure the factory camo is more durable or maybe not. Buy hey that is just me.

i do like the camo look, but i'm an all or none kind of person..
i just do not think they look right with a black scope, magazine, or grip and everything else camo. reminds me of an old Chevy i had with one color on the door another on the fender and the body another.
i have grown fond of my monochrome 15/22.

Once you paint it 50% of your buyer marker just dropped off. Something to think about.

That's only if you plan on selling it.

I buy (and modify) my firearms, photographic equipment and amateur radios to meet MY needs at the time, not with a view to selling at some later point.

That said, camo doesn't do all that much for me.

I like the camo in your first post better than the digital. I like that it doesn't stick out so much. I'll be leaving mine all black when I get it this week, but if you like the camo look I say go for it! It'll look cool.
