Default Trigger creep fix.

Hey guys I was sitting at work playing around with my lower receiver and I had an idea. As a lot of you folks have already stated our rifles are notorious for a mild to moderate trigger creep. I took my fcg apart to polish it up a little and I noticed the socket screw that holds my pistol grip onto my lower sticks up through the lower into the fcg assembly area. And I thought maybe if I could find a slightly longer screw to replace the one I had then maybe it would do essentially the same thing as the set screw trick without the hassle of dealing with taps and such. So I went to our parts dept. and found a screw and three washers and tried it out. Guess what... it worked perfectly. I didn't bother getting all the specs but I'm sure you guys can figure out what size screw you need. It just has to be slightly longer than the factory screw. It will take a little adjusting to get it just right. Its not fancy at all but it works. I will be happy to answer questions. Good luck guys

The last trigger creep mod thread got a lot of controversy because the way it fixed the trigger "creep" was to take up the trigger at rest, essentially partially disengaging the sear. This meant that getting rid of the creep was actually just keeping the trigger partially pulled at all times, which is not the safest situation. I tried this mod, and could not get the screw in a position where it made any difference and gave me the impression that the rifle was safe. YMMV.

Just be prepared for some flak being thrown at you, as your mod does the same thing.

I understand the consequences of the post. I agree that it is not the most technologically advanced fix. And I don't plan on leaving my rifle like this permanantly it is just a quick and inexpensive fix to a seemingly big problem to a lot of our users. Nothing substitutes a good ole fashioned drop in trigger.Tthe "creep" has never been an issue to me I just saw an easy solution to a problem. Thanks for your concern but I can handle the flack.
