Video PROOF that the Slide Fire works on a "stock" 15-22!
You guys all asked for it.. So without further ado, I give you Dave and his 15-22
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-weNE...1&feature=plcp
To reiterate, This is a brand new "box stock" 15-22 with "blue springs" I did the bent leg hammer spring mod, the burnished sear mod and liberally applied Molly Paste to the Fire Control Group.
No JP springs needed at all!

I've seen better quality video proof of Bigfoot.
Seriously though, its cool that this works on a pretty much stock rifle. I might have to start saving my money for the fun factor involved.

Oh yeah, Thanks a LOT Dave! You could have messaged me at work.. I could have faked a perforated spleen or something! :P

Dave had "Honda" brand Molly paste from his Motorcycle but any true "Molly Paste" will work (Molybdenum Disulphide)

Meh, to each their own I guess. I'd rather spend that money on a suppressor.

Brett248Vista,
I have watched and learned from your posts, and tube stuff.
I asked early on at the forum if this(SSAR-15 SBS)would work on a stock 15-22, as if there was such a thing.
I got answers: No, not enought recoil, etc...
Yes if you get the trigger down to ~ 3lb.
Yes if you practice and hold it right.
Maybe with some mods.
Maybe some ammo.
I actually fired a 15-22 with side fire. It did great. But stupid me, I did not ask if he had done anything to make it work.
He took it off his bushmaster AR, which worked great, and put it on his 15-22. Yes it took a few shots too get the hang of it.
My Company had a great year, so bonus checks will be in the mail March 15. I thought I would buy a SSAR-15 SBS, and try it.
But better yet. I buy a side fire, and send it to you. Also my 15-22. You can do a video, of what it takes too get it running.
Win/Win: You get to show how it's done. I get a working gun.
Send me a private message if you are intrested.
PS: I will pay shipping both ways.

Guy,
I really wish I could help you out here, but it's not legal for you to ship a lower to me as I am not an FFL holder.

Saw this at the gun show this weekend, 324 (or maybe 364, don't recall). I'd like to try someone's, but I don't see me spending the money on it, for that price, it's another gun for me!
I opted for some cheaper entertainment and bought some of that stuff from www.weblow****uplegally.com
insert a common name for poop where it put ****

Once you modded the FCG, this was no longer a "stock" M&P 15-22.

I just sent my stock fcg to Bill Springfield yesterday for him to drop my pull to 3lbs. With the reduced trigger pull, I may have to do the bolt firing pin spring mod also... I will see how my rifles fires and cycles before doing that mod first.

All "stock" components were retained. The modifications done were basic. No parts required a "change out" to make the SFS Stock, work.
I guess this is like when I say my car is stock, sure I put a cat back exhaust on it.. But haven't touched anything inside the engine yet

if you search "trigger spring mod" or something similar, you should find it.

Guys - you're making full auto guns without concern about the legality, but you're worried about mailing a lower?
And you're posting all this on the 'net, and videos on youtube - and then wanting to go back and your your names on the vid for credit.
So....full auto machine gun without the proper license is a felony. Manufacturing a machine gun after 1986 is another one. I'm sure there's some law about doing it without some license on top of that.
SUMMARY OF STATE AND FEDERAL MACHINE GUN LAWS - you can be imprisoned for up to 10 years and fined up to $250,000 for just possessing the gun. Making it is another felony. Crossing state lines with it is another.
It can be a felony to fire one that you don't own also, hence folks making 'trusts' to 'own' their machine guns so folks other than the individual licensee can shoot it.

It's not a full auto by federal definition because each round discharged requires a separate pull of the trigger.

I'm fascinated by the thing and the longer video answered my questions about accuracy (good by full-auto standards, laughable by semi-auto standards). And I just know some are wondering about one of these with a drum magazine. But the points put forth by official party-pooper Prof_Fate. while refutable now, may just get some government type with too much time on his hands something to get busy trying to make it illicit. I guess I'm old enough to know that there are some people who assume that their God-given task is to find out what other people enjoy doing...and make them stop it!
Of course, I'm wondering what one of my 15-22 mags with my 4/1 ball/tracer loading would look like with one of those; beaucoup-cool, I bet...

Big thumbs down for prof_ fate. Love it when people rain on the parade and have no clue, or mabey he really cares about the OP and is looking out for us, honestly thinks some one is about to have the ATF at their door.
Huge thumbs up for the vid, I really wanted to know if this would work and now I do. Thanks Dave

I understand someone wanting to look out for someone else, especially when it's Firearms Enthusiasts and I'm one of the first that will try to help someone if something they are attempting is illegal. But I also read up on the laws before I speak about them.
This is completely legal, it's been signed off on by the BATFE with their blessing. This is mechanical stock and you pull the trigger for each round fired which equals Semi-Auto.
