15-22 scope recommendation?
Looking to purchase the most affordable scope capable of shooting comfortably and reliably at 100 yards. Any suggestions?

IM thinking I will use this on my Performance Center 15-22 for the ultra fine cross hairs and the fact I will be varmint hunting at night with a streamlight super tac weapons light and the illumination will work nicely,, also 4x is all the more one would need for the effective accuracy of the .22lr any how

I know its off topic,,, but why not go tacticool,,, the whole rifle is any how,,, other wise a simple 10/22 would do,,, not being ugly just don't see the logic behind it

I recently fell into a NC Star 3-9X40 illuminated rubber armored scope. The thing is sweet and crystal clear. All for $62 shipped free from Optics Planet

As far as I am concerned no scope can be said to be CQB unless it goes down to around 1X.

I like that Firefield unit, I may try that out.
Just put on a PA Micro Dot, but it is nice to try out others too.

Even a .22 deserves a decent scope (which NC-Star is NOT) Either one of these should do:
Nikon P22 2-7x32 BDC-150
Nikon Prostaff 3-9x40 BDC-150
Mueller APT 4-16x40
I like the Nikons because they have return to zero turrets. The P22 is more "tactical" looking because it has tactical turrets, but I think it's a little weak on the power end.
I've owned Nikon, Mueller, Simmons, Centerpoint, and NC-Star scopes. Nikon and Mueller have been the absolute best of the bunch.

That's the EXACT same reticle on my Primary Arms 4X mounted I on my Sig522. It really is a great reticle for precision shooting and I've learned to use the reticle for bullet drop to about 100yds with a .22. Anyone who sees it at the range asks where they can get one but PA doesn't sell them anymore. Thanks for pic.

I guess I don't see the problem with NC Star that others may. They are a reliable company and the scope has a lifetime warranty. It was somewhat cheap, but hey, I didn't want to dish out $100+ for a scope on a .22LR. It doesn't have any recoil, what could possibly go wrong? It's not like this thing is going to a war or anything.

I also don't have a problem with ncstar, but some things that can go wrong on cheapo scopes without recoil are things like elevation and windage aren't repeatable, meaning if you crank it 10 clicks up then 10 clicks back down its not in the same spot as it was before. canted crosshairs is another problem some have

I don't think NcStar should be pigeonholed into just one category. RRAGES sells tons of scopes. We were discussing NcStar Scopes on this Forum and here is what RRAGES had to say.
[[ "Have to comment on the Mark lll scopes. I have sold several hundred of these (in various magnifications and reticle styles) through my website and have had possibly 5 returned for legitimate problems. NC Star immediately shipped me a replacement for each one. I have had a few returned for what was described as a crooked reticle, but when the scope arrived no problem was found. Overall, a good buy for the money. Any decent retailer will immediately replace a defective product, manufacturers warranty or not. NC Star markets many really well made and innovative products at excellent price points. On the other hand, they also market some of the worst dogs I've ever handled. The Mark lll scopes are a fine product as far as I can tell. ]]"

I have seen many forum members on here with mark II scopes. They're a little more expensive, but I went with the full size cheaper version. Doesn't have the red and green illumination. Just green. Its not small and compact. We're talkin 12 and 1/2 inches long. I would say for $60-$100 you can't go wrong with it.

UTG Tactical 3 to 12 scope
I just sighted this scope in this weekend. Once I got it zeroed at 25 yds with less than one clip, I took one shot at 50 yds and put it right thru dead center. At the silhoette range, it performed beautifully.

+1 for the Nikon Prostaff Rimfire 3x9 BDC 150.
I love the BDC retile system.. just memorize your yardages with any ammo you shoot and you can be highly accurate with little effort or guess work. Also, for the money the Nikon has excellent image quality and feels well built.
I have had two NcStar 3x9 Rubber Armored /w laser and I do like the scope and dont think you would be making a huge mistake buying it. They are NOT "crystal" clear, at least not the entire fov. They tend to be sharp in the center and out of focus toward the outer perimitter of the lens. Also, a NcStar 9x is not equal to a Nikon or other higher end 9x. You will also find that the NcStar's eye relieve is much less forgiving zoomed in. But.. again, they are decent for the money and I like mine due to the integrated laser and illuminated reticle. I keep it around for night use and times when I dont want to beat around my Nikon.

"Even a .22 deserves a decent scope " - I'm glad to see there are people with some sense. I am sick of reading and hearing people down the .22. Two times in the last two days I heard stupid statements by people who just down get it. One was at the range where a guy was telling the other... "it's a 22... its not meant to be precision" ???? Last time I checked .22 is one of the olympic games shooting tournament rounds. The other was at Cabela's where a guys buddy told him.. "you dont need the 3x9.. you cant shoot out far enough for it to matter" ??? Seriously. I can head shoot a squirrel at 100 yards and even out to 150 or 175 with perfect conditions. Try doing that with a fixed 4x scope or red dot.
