I started out with the 15-22 as others and a AR lower to start
Then to this
And now have this as well
Oh and you have to have an AR in a .308
I need to get another family picture with the new additions and the constant changes to the others.

jus bought a new m&p 15 today
i took a trip down to my local gun shop today to get rid of my sgl 31 ak 74 and to look around of course so they checked out my rifle and as i was looking i found the gun i was looking for by surprise it is a m&p 15 5.45x39 complete rifle they said they had it sitting there for a while they had it marked down to 699.99 so i took my trade in money and bought it . is seems like a well made gun but then again what s&w isn't a well made gun can't wait to get it to the range has anyone else owned or shot one of these?

Sold it because I trimmed down my semi-auto handgun calibers to .22lr (practice), 9mm (primary), and .45ACP (SR1911 for fun).
I've been itching to get a PX4 Storm Inox 9mm.

It is a really nice handgun. I have a friend with a Springfield Armory XD (I think), and although his trigger is much quicker than Beretta's, I still shoot better with mine. I have a Kimber Team Match (stainless) sitting here too, but it doesn't match the family's all black color scheme!

Wow X 2!
First, I had no idea S&W ever produced a M&P 15 chambered for 5.45x39. I had to search for the product number, then located it on the S&W online product archive, S&W M&P 15R.
Product: ARCHIVE: Model M&P15R Rifle
Tactical-Life.com * New S&W M&P15R 5.45×39mm
That's pretty cool.
Was it new left-over stock? I did some online price research. My guesstimate is that the rifle originally had a MSRP of around $1,200. You got a deal.
Also it's cool that you didn't have to change calibers. I'm not sure, but I think 5.45 X 39 is much more easy on the wallet than .223/5.56.
Congrats!

5.45x39 is alot cheaper i can pick it up were i live for 12 cents a round but the russian surplus ammo is very dirty i think it should be a great training platform as it weighs about the same as my 5.56 ar if you google 5.45x39 upper one of the first websites has the upper for 499.99 plus 10.00 shipping to your front door i cant wait to take it to the range

Main difference between your Colt and your 15-22 is the Colt is not bent................
What did you do; try out for Act of Valor with the gun as a stuntman or something??!!!

Memo to self; do NOT under any circumstances try to break into Chad's house, or do it dirty to his sister, or kick his dog, or.......
That's a pretty heavy case of BRD brother.

Ummmm... I started out with a Rock River (#1). Then I found a Stag in left hand and being the consumate left handed shooter I HAD to get that (#2). Then I got a Stag lower receiver, pulled the upper off the complete Stag and built it out to my specs (#3). Then I bought another Stag left hand upper to complete the #2. Started looking for a complete upper with 20" bbl. My dear ole FFL buddy sold me a new Armalite with 20" bbl at his cost rather than me buying an upper by itself. (#4). Do I got a 5.56/.223? Nope. I got four!

Chris at Addax is a good guy. I bought the complete upper from them and am very happy with it.

What the frak are you smoking?
I have no idea what you are talking about.
I said I had the Colt modded from stock to this, and then I picked up the 15-22 a few days later.

Bought my first AR in December. Love shooting it but gets a bit expensive. I bought a 22 conversion kit for it and it works great. Last week I decided I "needed" a dedicated 22 so I picked up my M&P Tuesday.

Ahhhh, I was wondering just how many mag dumps it would take to get it hot enough to droop!! Yes, in the pic the upper rifle looks like it was used as a prybar.
Worst case scenario- it might shoot a little low!!!

I actually pulled it from my safe when I got home yesterday to look to see if it was droopin', and it was normal.
I have seen cameras do some weird things before, but yes, after viewing the pic more it did look like it was going South.
Have not shot it yet since Rainier Arms put the shroud on a few weeks back.
Shooting it tomorrow though...
I need to get some barrel jaws for my vise at home, and since then I picked up a strap wrench too so I can change it out in the future if I need to.

Thanks to the 15-22 my AR lust got the best of me. I started my CA 10-day wait yesterday on an LW-15 lower (have been watching them for a while so wanted to give it a try) and ordered a Del-Ton mid-length upper with a 16" 1-9 twist barrel. After the first range trip with it I will probably whore it out with Magpul goodies.
Next rifle will be with higher end parts, I wanted to get a budget rifle to get me started, and at just over $550 so far this one fits the bill pretty nicely. Already had a bunch of magazines from the Kel Tec su16 that I sold recently.
Will post pictures on the 8th when I get the lower home and pin it together.

|
I have a few 5.56 and 300 blackout AR-15 style rifles. I then decided to get the 15-22 as a trainer. The cost saving on ammo is a no brainer and my 15-22 is a close replica of it's full sized caliber brother.

I bought the S&W MP15T in 5.56 back before Obama became president. i got a good deal from one of our l.e. dealers. Works great and has passed the 10k rounds mark.
Last Thanksgiving, I built a complete rifle with 95% parts from Palmetto State Armory in 5.56.
I bought two S&W MP15-22s last month. One for me, one for my daughter.
I just ordered more parts from PSA to build another 5.56 rifle then maybe do a SBR/Suppressed .300blk rifle this summer.
the 15T and 15-22s are at work in my locker. My home rifle is the PSA.
here's the PSA:
going to stick a primary arms red dot on it and move the eotech to my new PSA rifle I am building this month.
if i like the primary arms red dot, i will buy another one to stick on my 15-22. my daughter said, "optics, daddy?? for real? i can out shoot you and your optics with iron sights. pfft."
she's got a real smart mouth on her, my wife says she takes after me.

My Daniel Defense AR came first. I just picked up a used 15-22 for a .22 steel match, but it will come in handy for cheaper practice on the AR platform.

I wish we were allowed SBR's here. I'd love to have one!
Was contemplating buying a 14.5" barrel for my build but I want the ability to be able take the flash hider/muzzle break off when I need to.

Its almost done, I just got the trigger in the mail today I will be putting that in later tonight. So far the parts list looks like this.
POF P-415 upper

HAHAHAHAAA!!! That's the one. I remember a long time ago a guy warped a barrel on the patrol boat. He was on shore, and had gotten into a real mess. Wound up putting down cover for the rest of his team after they were noticed by some unfriendly folks. The 2nd skiff was a better lander, so they went in with a 17ft. Boston Whaler for an extraction. He was still hitting it, and then went into the drink with this smoking hot rifle. The barrel warped and a huge steam bolt blasted out and the guys pulling him up got sprayed with it. No serious injuries, but the barrel literally made a wave shape from cooling so rapidly. Kinda like ~....! I always had the utmost respect for him; he would go toe to toe with Godzilla if that was what it took. Anyone in the squad who had their choice always wanted him on their team. Even the SF guys wanted him; they would hit him up to try and draw him into the teams.
He made his mark, and went home to be a regular guy. And we teased him about getting with girls, having a bent barrel and all.....

Eugene Stoners AR180 is a neat little weapon,
While it solved several AR15 shortcomings like an improved tappet rod that moves the gas system out of the action and into the handguard, a cocking handle that doubles as a fwd assist, side folding stock and heavy use of stampings instead of casting to reduce costs its shortcomings (IMO) are less robust design, flimsy stock and although AR 18 magazines work in the M16/AR15 ,
AR15 magazines do not work in the AR18/180 without being modified.
Original Costa Mesa made guns and short barrel versions are very desirable,
Production supposedly moved to Howa Japan then to Sterling England (where the IRA managed to procure them).
Interestingly AR18/180 internals are almost identicle to the current British Light Individual Weapon LWI bullpup .

This thread puts me in a tough choice between buying a .223 or a Saiga Shotgun as my next gun.

Two ARs. one A-4 and one A-2.
1 15-22 MOE.
The A-4 and 15-22 are set up really identical (A-4 has a Magpul CTR stock with the ASAP Ambidextrous Sling Attachment for a single point sling(MS3™ - Multi Mission Sling System).
Both weapons have PA M3 red dots and 3X magnifiers.
Aim small,
