Default Went to the gun show to buy a revolver, got an M&P 15-22

I posted this a few days ago but put it in the wrong forum. Gonna fix that now. (I've never been on this one).
Friday I had a short-term body guard assignment and got paid in cash. On the way home I called Missus P&R Fan and asked if she would mind if I stopped at the gun show. Bless her heart, she said "sure, you've worked hard, you deserve it, go ahead". (I do love that Woman).
Was looking for my specialty, Pinned and Recessed S&W revolvers. What few were there were way overpriced. Happened to spot an M&P 15-22 laying there with a price of $399. Got it, and a spare mag for $440 OTD. I really didn't need this rifle, but it was just so cool. Took it out on Saturday and it was really accurate, and scary fun. Now I'm seeing an M&P 15 in my future. I don't own a .223 as of yet, but I figure with the predicted calamities I'd better get one soon. Guess I could rely on the M1 Carbine and National Match M1 Garand I've got in the safe, but why tempt fate, the .223 is our national service cartridge. Guess I'd better get one now. (Although I can hear the late Jeff Cooper in my head calling it a "Poodle Shooter").
This Forum is gonna run me broke, but dang it I'm havin' fun.
Jim

Great find! My 15-22 has done the same thing to me. It's got me on the trail for a .223 that I hadn't planned on getting. I'm still researching, learning a lot and having a blast with my 15-22 all along the way. It's been dressed up 6 different ways and I think I'm almost there. Enjoy it!

Here's a bonus. My 18 year old son, who kind of enjoys shooting infrequently saw it, his eyes got big as saucers and he said "That's so COOL!!!"
Sure, I have a couple dozen S&W revolvers, three Glocks, several older Winchester shotguns and a few really nice older rifles. He never paid much attention. It took 18 years, but now I finally scored on his "Cool" meter.
Heck, maybe now he'll think I'M cool.
Nah, prolly not.

There's something about ARs that gets people interested. The "Call of Duty" factor, I guess.

I bought myself one for Christmas and was showing a photo of it to my son-in-law. My 8-year old grandson saw it and went yelling through the house - GRANDPA'S COOL - HE BOUGHT AN M4!!!

Of course, now he thinks it should be HIS, replacing his Crickett.

There was a time when the M1 Garand and M14 had that same "Call of Duty" cool factor.

I never understood why so many hunters have such a big bias against modern "military" firearms when a lot of the long guns they often shoot with are based on military guns from prior wars.....
