I visited shooboy's website - can't seem to find a place to buy a Shoo-wrench.
Bought some 1" PVC pipe tonight - followed the PVC-wrench instructions here in the thread. Tried to install the PVC wrench, and found out that it won't fit!!
Yep. I can get it about half-way down the throat of hand guard, and it locks up. Apparently, Smith and Wesson either intentionally or unintentionally is now making the inside of the hand guard with a taper such that a 1" PVC pipe won't fit down inside.
Put my PVC wrench on the belt sander for 15 minutes, and sanded in a healthy taper. I'm getting to a very thin-wall condition, and the PVC pipe still won't touch the nut - although I can get all the way down to within about a half-inch of touching it.
I can already see that there won't be any PVC pipe left when I get the taper down far enough to touch the nut.
I'd like to buy a Shoo-wrench....! Just cant figure out how to contact Shoo....
