MP 15-22 Trigger problem
Gents, Ladies,
I purchased a MP 15-22. its a good rifle. I installed an extreme 2 stage match service rifle trigger just because i had it lying around and im having problems. The trigger seems to occasionally fail to latch when the bolt goes back. The bolt goes back pick up a round always. It seems like it does not reset the trigger and latch it. I am considering putting on a reduced power hammer spring on it if I can find one...Do any of you guys know if this will fix the problem? Thanks,
Mike Eikey

Im not exactly sure how the extreme 2 stage match service rifle trigger operates. Can you please provide a link to this trigger so I can see it. Did you re-install the stock springs or did the trigger come with new ones? I would also take a look at the disconnector spring. Make sure everything looks ok.

Extreme trigger
Here is a pic of the trigger.
X-Treme Shooting - AR-15 triggers
Im thinking a reduced hammer spring would help it lock. The I have this trigger set at 4.5# but the hammer spring does not have too much to do with this. Does it?
Thanks for your help...

That trigger has an adjustable disconnector that adjusts the 2nd stage pressure. Are you sure you have it set to have enough sear engagement?

Agreed! It sounds like you don't have it properly adjusted. These aren't simple drop-in replacements.
Personally, I would contact the company for assistance before I started screwing around with replacing springs.

I know how to adjust the 2nd stage sear engagement but not the 1st. I know how to adjust this but its not the 2nd stage thats the issue. It just doesnt latch on the 1st stage when the bolt goes back on most shots. Ill call them...

Sounds like you need to re-read the documentation again and go back to step one and do the setup again.
