I will be going to an Appleseed this weekend and will need to be zeroed for 25 yards and 100 yards. The range I go to only goes out to 25 yards, so I'm zeroed for that. The question that I have is how do I set the zero for 100 yards? Is that so many clicks up on rear elevation? If so, how many? I hate to be such a newb. Thanks for any help that you can provide.

A typical .22 LR zeroed at 50 yards will drop 6" at 100 yards. Zeroed at 25 yards it will probably drop 8". Assuming your sights move in 1/4" increments at 100 yards, you will probably need to the elevation by at least 24 clicks and possibly as much as 32. The only way to know for sure is to try it.

Either that, or forget the sight adjustment and simply hold 6-8 inches over your normal point of aim.

Thanks! I will be using the stock A2 rear sight that came with the 15-22. The "sight adjustment" part in the instruction manual doesn't say what increment each click is worth. ???

I had my rifle zero'd at 50 yards and it shot about 4-6" low at 25 and 100. Zero'd at 25 yards now and it shoots about 2" high at 50 yards and about 2-3 inches low at 100

IMO a 25 yard zero is the way to go with a .22lr

What are you shooting? That doesn't jibe with Federal's (and others') ballistic charts for 1,200-1,250 fps ammo. All show (with a 50-yard zero) 1-1.5" low at 25 yards and 5.5-6.0 low at 100. My own shooting is very close to that.

With iron sights, just zero at 50 yards and hold over your normal POA.

I will be shooting Federal 36gr hollow points. These are in the value pack of 525 rounds. On the back of the box it says that there is a 5.6 inch drop at 100 yards.

After a little more research, I learned that I will only need a 25 yard zero for 2-day Appleseed.

With a muzzle velocity of 1255 fps using a 36 grain bullet the following should apply according to my ballistic program. Since I don't know where you are shooting, I gave a basic altitude of 1000 ft above sea level and a temp of 65 degrees. At sea level the drop at 100 yards would be about .10" more and an increase of 15 degrees in temperature will drop about .05" less. None of which would matter to me since I'm lucky if I hit the broad side of a barn...from the inside.

Had to set mine at 50 ft in the indoor range; took it to the outdoor range last Sunday at 50 yds it was shooting about 6 inches high. Shoot several different groups to make sure.

Only shot at the indoor range because the outdoor range was closed when I bought the 15-22.
