Default Converting a compliant stock to a standard stock

I'm new to this forum and this is my first post. I have a compliant version of the M&P 15/22 since I currently reside in NJ. When I retire next year and move South, is there a way to make my compliant stock into a normal adjustable stock? Hopefully I don't have to purchase a new stock...

Use a screw extractor and remove the pin. It's a five-minute project.

That sounds easy enough. Where exactly is the pin?

Look on the left side of the stock. It's a roll pin that sticks out like a sore thumb.

I just did one a while back.
Just get a drill bit a little smaller than the pin. Drill into the center of the pin. I did not go clear through. The pin is only about 1/2 to 5/8 in length.
I broke two drill bits, but it finally let go and fell out, and now it is fully functional.
