IMO, buy local, after paying shipping and ffl fees you really don't save all that much, plus you can actually touch it, pghrich

I'm with pghrich. I bought mine from a dealer here in Connecticut. Paid $399 + sales tax for the CT compliant model 811031. This is their everyday price and they have never been out of stock that I am aware of.

I would compare your local prices to the net prices. For the price the local shops wanted to charge me for a standard model I was able to order the MOE version off the net and still saved money. All the local places around here wanted 500 plus for a standard. That's what I got my MOE for plus the transfer.

Got mine, the most basic model, at Gander Mountain in the Indianapolis area. Paid $450 plus taxes.

It was "new", and had not been handled by anybody. I basically saw them unload it from the delivery truck, and stack it behind the counter minutes before I bought it.

They carry mag's for $20/each. I bought one extra mag at Gander, and bought five more online.

Three Wally Worlds near me...none of them carry weapons, only ammo.

The sale price is just the beginning. Wait until you have to have one of those and that would look so cool and that over there, just got to have one and then there is the scope/red dot to pick out. The list goes on and on. But it is fun.

Bought ours from Local gun show for $415.00 has the flash hider, $435.00 for moe but went with the non moe as we set it up for a Slidefire stock and removed sights, stock and grip and installed Slidefire and red dot sight. The moe would have been a bargain from what I'm seeing and wish now would have went that route but......

I was going to buy the Mossberg also, until I handled both of them. I also handled the Sig 522, it was tough choice but I'm glad I went with the Smith. I paid $460 for my standard model at Academy here in Springfield, MO.

Tango;
1 has a Rock River 2 stage and 1 has the CM drop in. Both work well with regular mags but have a stuttering problem with the 50 round Black Dog mag. Might dump the mag but the next time it will fire 25 rounds then stop it don't jam just stops, probably technique on our part as not enough forward pressure to keep it running. We don't have much time on the Black Dog mag so like I say probably technique on our part which we plan on resolving this afternoon at the range. :-)

Ahhhhhhh Luckyyyyyy I'm stuck in the dungeon at work today Oh well, tomorrow a shootin I will go
What's the CM drop in?

Jordan: Ya no contest once you have held both the mossberg and the 15-22, but ya hard choice between this and the 522, That 522 is one bad mamajama, ultimately it was the ability to use almost all AR accesories on the M&P that swayed me.

That's exactly why I chose the M&P as well. Plus I plan on buying a M&P 15 5.56 so I figured I better just buy the .22 version for now to save my wallet on ammo cost haha.
