Default Texas legalized hunting game animals with suppressors

Just found this link from the Texas parks and Wildlife website...... TPWD: News Release: March 30, 2012: TPWD Opens Deer Season in Metro Dallas Counties, Approves Silencers This law will take effect for the coming hunting season 2012-2013......so not til Sept 1.
For the ones of us that use them, will bring a whole new game to limb rat hunting with the M&P 15-22.
Post up pics of your suppressed M&P 15-22 with suppressor brand and info if you have them.

Unless you have deer that climb on limbs.....that would be a negative. Lol
But you will be able to hunt deer with suppressed centerfire rifles.

Just leaves me wondering where the misses will go in a populated area. Where I live you cannot fire within a mile and a half of a roadway which makes it nearly impossible to do legally and it's a medium size city nothing as dense as Dallas.

Read the link. More than Dallas county is involved. Additionally, not all of Dallas County is heavily populated. I really doubt anyone is going to be hunting, even squirrels, in the middle of some subdivision, unless they are using .22 Shorts or CB Caps.

Just passed the same law in AZ, plus they did away with mag capacity limits while hunting.

There is virtually no city in America, certainly not a major city, that permits the firing of a firearm within the city limits. It is essentially prohibited everywhere to the best of my knowledge. However, if you are outside the city limits, as mentioned by The Pilgrim, "in the county" as we say, then your use of a firearm, hunting or otherwise, is usually legal. If you can see rooftops - county or city subdivision - you ought not to be firing in that direction, legal or not. Except and unless, I guess, that there is a nice forest between you and those developments but, even then, you have to be mighty careful to keep your muzzles pointed below those trees. I wouldn't like it either, just like The Pilgrim said.

I understand that in Europe it is considered rude to hunt without a suppressor! I can't prove it offhand but that's what I have been advised. I am uncertain what the suppressor accomplishes other than not scaring away animals in the vicinity. European styles of hunting, as in groups together, drives, etc., I can see where noise reduction is useful. Otherwise, I don't get it.

As for city dwelling limb rats, a high powered air rifle can take care of that group of pests!

Late to the party and not European but in South Africa hunting with a supressor is encouraged and required on some farms. It is less stressful to the other animals and generally lowers the noise levels generally. I have never HUNTED with a suppressed rifles but I have CULLED with one. It definately reduces the shock factor for the other animals.
