Tacticrayola question
What other cleaners will work besides Rem Oil or WD40? All I have is some CLP in my bag and trying to avoid going to the store.

Good way to dissolve the polymer, as well as the paint.
Polymer-safe GunScrubber is a MUCH better choice.

Use pam cooking spray. You will want to stop by IHOP after shooting though.

I used WD40 to spray down the lower then blew I out with compressed air from my compressor (canned air is too low pressure, too low volume, too high price to be of real use here), small paint brush and Qtips to clean lead, brass, unburned gunpowder, carbon and dirt. For leaning the breach of the upper, it was a little more challenging, because the was a wax and lead build up from Blazer ammo, which shoots and feeds well, but is kind of messy, so I used wooden applicators and my fingernails to scrape.

Anything that dissolves wax and doesn't attack the polymer.

Thanks guys. I tried the CLP and then wiped down with alcohol after every pass, let it sit for a few minutes, then would go back and color again and the color that was there would come off when the crayon went over it. I found an old bottle of some gun oil out of a cheep Walmart cleaning kit and it seemed to do better when I would wipe it down and come back for another pass of color. I guess when I get done I need to put some heat on the color to make it fill in a little better?

Chlorine free Brake parts cleaner works just fine, no problems to polymer at all.
