RRA 2 stage trigger
Has anyone successfully installed a RRA 2 stage trigger in their 15-22? I tried yesterday and it wouldn't work.
It almost seemed like the rear of the trigger hung up on the safety(when it was dis-engaged). This trigger came out of one of my AR's and worked fine when it was removed a year or so ago.
Any ideas as to what the problem would be?

SOME TIMES THE SAFETY NEEDS TO FIT. THIS FITTING WILL NOT ALTER IT'S USE ON THE STANDARD TRIGGER. JP

Fitting as in filing where it engages? Or something else?
Would I be as well off installing a standard AR safety? I have a couple laying around but didn't think to try one yesterday.

I can't help you with what the issue may be, but a RRA 2 stage trigger was one of the very first mods I did on mine and it dropped right in.

The RRA 2 stage is the only trigger I have ever used in my 15-22. It hasn't had any problems in several thousand rounds.

I would remove the safety from your 15-22, install the trigger, and then reinstall the safety. I believe this is the easiest way to do it.
Just be careful not to lose the safety spring or detent.

You might want to get the installation instructions and take a look at them.

I have installed many triggers in standard AR's and never had a problem. I had limited time yesterday to troubleshoot why the RRA trigger wouldn't work. I just came here to verify that there wasn't a known issue with that trigger in the 15-22.

Knowing nothing about you, it was simply my first thought.

I thought I was the only one that had those.
I understand your frustration.

The Performance Center model comes standard with an RRA 2-stage installed so I do not think compatability is an issue. Of course I replaced mine with a trigger more appropriate to my intended use, but still it was not a bad trigger, especially with the JP reduced power springs in it. It just could not do what I needed.

I had one of my RRA 2 stage lowers come from them and the safety had been filed on to make it work. Could try it, they are cheap to replace. Just my .02

I used this trigger in my M&P15-22 for a weekend. Ran fine. Something about a $120 trigger in a $300 rifle just didn't seem right so I put the original parts back in with JP yellow springs. Good enough for a .22LR plinker!

The RRA trigger is an extra one I have laying around. My Noveske has a Geissele SSA and I wanted my 15-22 to feel similar. As Chuck mentioned above it wouldn't seem right to buy an expensive trigger for a plinker.
Do the JP springs make a noticeable difference in the trigger? Any issues to be aware of? My 10 yr old daughter is going to be shooting this in steel challenge matches and a little better trigger pull would be nice.

The problem is definitely with the trigger hitting the shoulders on the safety. Tried a second safety and had the same issue. It appears that my RRA trigger is wider than the stock trigger where it contacts the safety. I noticed the RRA trigger is flat and the stock trigger (and another single stage I have) are both relieved at the rear where it contacts the safety.
I guess I could file down the RRA trigger and make it work but I will probably just use the stock trigger for now. The 2 Stage RRA trigger is 3 or 4 years old....I wonder if the new ones are different?

I would say that is the same issue.
I might try filing the safety at some point. I wonder if this is some tolerance stacking issue? This RRA trigger works fine in a standard AR lower. I might take the extra AR safety I tried and modify it to work with this trigger in the 15-22. I just hate having to mess with something like this when it really should be "drop in" if everything is within spec.
