Default new guy with a couple questions....

1st..anyone know of any promo codes for the website 44mag.com???
2nd..noticed another post about a fellow having issues with a rifle and sending it back to S&W.It was stated that if they send him back his original gun they could send it directly to him but if it were a replacement gun would have to go to an FFL dealer.my question IS I purchased my 15-22 from an individual,I am the 2nd owner and no paperwork had to be done at a dealer (PA law).how would that be handled? HOPE it never happens, but you never know..
3rd I saw a post about a guy that changed springs in his gun..this might be dumb but why would he do this? I'm in the LEARNING stages of this gun and need all the knowledge you guys can give me..thanks a million.....

He was likely changing the trigger/hammer springs. The stock trigger is about 6# which many including me think was a little high.. A set of JP reduced power springs ($10 from several dealers) can get it down to the 4# range or so.

Influence - the act or power of producing an effect without apparent exertion of force or direct exercise of command.

This is why we "seek" a better trigger. Let's look at it this way. Have you ever driven a car or truck with "manual" steering? It takes alot of influence from the driver to steer. Power steering on the other hand takes much less influence to do the same job. Thus, both will achieve the same task but the power steering is more "precise" and "predictable".

Same goes for triggers. The trigger is the direct link between the shooter and the gun. The easier it is to "influence" the trigger the more control the shooter has over the gun. Your not fighting "resistance".

Your gun will shoot much more accurately because the trigger finger has less work to perform and is not influencing the desired result nearly as much. Plus, the "break" is easily anticipated and now the shooter can have a "repeatable" "consistent" feel.

The gun is more fun to shoot and better accuracy is achieved.

I hope that answers your question.
