Default Looking at a 1X-4X vari-scope....

Since shooting the M&P on the range, I like going from 25 yards to 50, then 100. My Red Dot is setup for 50yds. My only issue is I would like some magnification for the 100yd shots.
I'm looking for anyone out there that has installed some of the new 1x-4x scopes, how you like them and what ones work well with the M&P... I have a couple that I'm looking at so far and will add them to this later.. Thanks.

I saw a 4x9-50 scope, made by Barska, at Gander Mtn for $80 this weekend that looked like it would work well out to 75 yards, meven for my old tired eyes.

I have a NC Star 3 x 9 x 42 on mine and at 100 yards, its still a little small for me I shoot 8 in targets and less at 100 yards. Here's a pic of it

I'd go with the Primary Arms 1-4x and the Primary Arms mount.
Best Value optic set up for your 15-22 in my opinion.

I guess it really does depend on what your budget is. Like some others have said, if you're going for the budget friendly model, go with the Primary Arms

If you want to jump up into the not so budget friendly models, there is a ton to research out. Burris MTAC and Tac30 are fun. Leupold Firedot series are awesome... but those range from $300-500.

There is another site that has a list of about 30 1-4x low variable scopes with reviews / pics etc. of them. Not sure about posting to the thread on that site, so I'll leave you to find that one one your own. But it is on a major ar-15 website and that website simply has ar15 in it's web address lol.. if you can't figure that out then PM me.

I have a couple 1-4 scopes. The one on my 15-22 is a bushnell 1-4. It was under a $100. No illumination but its clear and has as a nice recticle. The other is an optisan. Its a true 1x and has a BDC for 55 grn 223 rounds. It has great reviews over at optics talk forum. Sold by swfa. 150 with a Burris style mount.

thanks for the feedback, off to shopping the web sites... I want one option of adjusting the magnifcation on the scope using a slide or rotating lever so, I got some in mind..

the only other thing is I normally don't like purchase a scope that cost more than the rifle it's sittiing on, so I will be keeping cost in mind. Again, this is targeting only, not hunting or defensive uses.

This afternoon, I pulled the Millett DMS of my AR and mounted it on my 15-22. I mounted it in a set of UTG med height QD rings. I'll take a couple of pictures tomorrow. It is 1-4x and has an illuminated donut of death reticle. I paid $225 for my DMS in a Burris PEPR mount to a local guy on Backpage. Arfcom is another good place to look for reasonably priced used optics. I only changed to the UTG mounts because the VLTOR CASV-el raised it up higher than I wanted it.
