Default Econo Can suppresser

just wanting to know if any one has tried this suppresser on the 15 22 yet. been thinking about forking over the money for a suppresser and from the reviews and videos this one seems to be just as good sound suppression wise as any other one (in fact one video it seemed to out preform a higher dollar suppressor).

also about how much would it cost to get my barrel threaded to the propper threading of 1/2x 28mm? (yes i know every one's price is likely diffrent i just want a standard job by some one who can do it where the bore will be in line with the threads and not cost me a barrel).

The threading is 1/2" in diameter x 28 threads per inch. Nothing is measured in mm.

Most any reputable gunsmith is going to charge a minimum of $50 to thread your barrel and most will be closer to $100.

As far as that "suppressor"....waste of time and money (in my opinion). Large diameter oil filters would be bulky plus too tall to use the sights for any type of accuracy on most fire arms.
My advice would be to just save up the money and get you a decent mid priced suppressor, or build your own on a Form1 if you know someone with access to machinery. I have a total of $245 in my Form1 suppressor....$200 for stamp and $45 in materials and it holds its own with any of the big boys suppressors.

I have no experience with using an EconoCan.... but spending $300 to use oil filters for a suppressor sounds a lot more expensive than $600 for a suppressor designed to be used with a gun. In any event, if you do go with the EconoCan you need not worry about having your barrel threaded properly because the EconCan requires the first bullet to punch though it.... self alignment.

I agree with getting the best can for the money. Suppressors have little to no resale value. Most people who get one consider it a marriage. .22LR cans are the most fun and the quietest. The .22 LR cans will fill with lead. It's a good idea to buy one of the top performers that can disassemble for cleaning by the owner. Suppressors can loose performance with is little as 5K rounds. Even thought the oil can is disposable, it's more costly in the long run.

I'm also pretty sure the oil can will negatively affect accuracy. If bullet rubs/nicks on the edge of the punched hole, it will tumble. An uneven hole will affect accuracy. One the top performers, the bullet has no contact.

AAC Element
Liberty Suppressors Kodiak or Essence
SWR Spectre I or II
Silencerco Sparrow

All of these use stainless steel or titanium. All of these are heirloom quality. I've owned quite a few and I would only recommend this kind. Buy once, cry once.
