welcome.

you should start with the ammo recommended in the instruction manual. that stuff you posted is also fine but pricey. also search for a thread called ammo talk i believe. there are tons of brands and styles which should work just fine, and most have been discussed at length already.

i go federal bulk 550 or 525 myself for regular high volume shooting.

With all due respect, there must be three dozen threads on this forum answering this exact question. Have you tried reading through a few pages of the forum?

I have only had mine for about a month my dad got it for me for my birthday. I only shot about 200 bullets through it with the bulk ammo an it seem to jam fairly often is there any way I can fix that? I figured more expensive ammo less jams or am I wrong? An I appreciate your response thank you.

You don't have to search, just scroll through the pages and look at the thread titles.

look around for info about magazine loading techniques. the tips on here are very helpful

the price of the ammo is not really relevant as far as feeding reliability for the most part. i personally avoid winchester 555 after a bad first time experience. first and foremost start with the ones recommended in the manual.

What a way to welcome a new member!

I have used CCI mini-mags (hollow point and round), Federal Bulk (hollow point), Winchester Super X, and Winchester M-22 (round) without any issues. I've shot about 1,800 rounds of the previously mentioned ammo.

Thanks for all the great tips and advise from everyone. So do any of you guys have any favorite attachments on your smith and Wesson m&p 15-22? All I have is a red lazier on the bottom I'm looking for a red dot or good scope but I love the look of the gun with its default sights so I don't know if I want to put on other sights.

Try buying a couple of small boxes of which ever ammo is available in your area. See which one seems to work the best in your particular rifle. As stated before some rifles like some ammo better than others. Personally my rifle has done fantastic so far with Federal bulk pack, Remington sub sonic, CCI Blazers, CCI Mini Mags, CCI sub sonic, and Aguila Super Extra(funky smelling)(yellow and blue box, 38 grain)

I am going to try some of that; mine really likes Blazers and Federal auto match.

Welcome to the madness; go buy some ammo and have some fun.

Welcome,
Feed issues usually come from the way you load the ammo into the mag. Make sure you are using 22lr and make sure the shells are all the way back in the mag, tipping back when loading helps me and the book says to load one at a time.

Im a CCI fan: Blazers are cheap and work great for me, Stingers also good and I have shot a few boxes of the tactical they are accurate, but also pricey.

As far as attachment pretty much anything for an AR works. Amazon is a great place to start and look at all the add ons. Cheap prices with good quality. That is where I got my BSA sweet 22 scope, UTG quick release rings, rail covers, 5 position foregrip, 1/2" riser, and front sling mount.

Good Luck

Dont be sorry. The only dumb question is the one not asked.

The best way, that I found to search this forum is go to google type in what you are looking for, with smith and wesson forum after it. It has worked great everytime for me.
