Primary Arms VS Sightmark Ultra Shot... Which one?
I have narrowed down my search for a "red dot" type sight for my 15-22.. Either the Primary Arms multi-reticle 30mm red dot (Aimpoint clone) OR the new Sightmark Ultra Shot Reflex with the steel cover/case (Model # SM13005).
I know that PA has a great reputation for the $$ but does anyone have personal experience with the Sightmark? This is a plinker that my kids will shoot also. I am just reluctant with the sightmark for durability and function all the time (like out on a bright, sunny day).
Any input would be great!!

You might want to check out Amazon or opticsplanet for the Sightmark, which has it at a better price. Reviews didn't look so great.

I had a sight mark and sold it for scope.
If I buy another on it would be a PA.
I have not owned any PA products yet.

I have the below SightMark on a shelf around here somewhere.... It works just fine inside or in shade, but in direct sunlight the reticle fades out. Maybe the one you're looking at with the wider hood would do better in sunlight. I have three Primary Arms optics. None are on a shelf.

I would def. buy the PA product. Now only is it a great product, their customer service is top notch. I mean that, hands down one of the best companies I've dealt with.
I've got their microdot on the Warne RAMP 45 degree mount now. Had their Multi Reticle red dot on my ar15 for the longest time, with their 3x magnifier on a flip-to-side mount. Everything was flawless and held zero.

Too bad PA is out of stock of almost everything right now. I've owned a bunch of their red dots and scopes.

No kidding. I'm going to start suggesting Sightmark so the good stuff isn't back ordered when I need it.

Them being out of stock is just a testament to how good their products are at their price points.

You might look at the vortex strikefire. I got mine from opticsplanet for $135 shipped. It works great on the 15-22 and its rated for .375 h&h mag. I have mine on my sig516 right now. Holds a zero and comes with a 2x magnifier. The dot is plenty visible in bright sunlight. I usually switch over to the green dot when its real sunny out. I think it has 10 brightness settings.

Its not a Sightmark but its Brownings version called the Buckmark I have 2 . One is one my 15/22, the other is on a Springfield Socom2. neither one has lost its zero and they are easy to see in bright light outside .

I own both Sightmark and Primary Arms red dots. The PA is currently installed on my M&P15 whereas the Sightmark is sitting around gathering dust. Personally I feel the PA is a much better product than the Sightmark...

you won't regret it. my buddy spent 4-5x on his aimpoint and when we go shoot, my PA is virtually identical in look, feel and performance.

The $65 TruGlo Dual Red/Green Reflex sight works fine and is plenty bright enough in daylight. After using many sights this is the only red dot type sight I currently use in competition that is not a C-More in fact. I have used it for over 2 years in Steel Challenge and Ruger Rimfire on first my Rem 597 and now my AR15-22. It has probably done around 70 matches in that time and has never failed. The 4 reticle images are very sharply defined in red or green (green is better for daylight).
