Outdoor range with the 15-22
Went shooting outdoor for the first time with my 15-22 with Centerpoint 4-16x40.
This is from 50 yards. Also managed to shot 3 groups within the bullseye from 100 yards (no pic).
This is my first rifle and already shot 1000+ rounds without a single problem.

Have you tried shooting any groups with it other than when you were sighting in? I would be curious to see what your 3 or 5 shot groups look like. Were you using the scope at 16X? Ammo?

Would love to see some follow-up shots of the same question. 3 and 5 shot groups at 100 yards along with ammo used.

It was quick visit to the range just to sight in the scope with the federal bulk. I'm planning going back on Sunday and see how it goes.

I know everyone seems to like seeing 3 and 5 shot groups, but personally, I've shot lots of times where 3 shots were very close to one another, but the remainder of the 25 in the mag were not all that close. If I shot 3-shot groups all day, I'm sure I'd be able to pick one that looked really good. But, again personally, I prefer to empty a 25 round mag on a target, and look at the results. If they're grouped well in general, with very few flyers, I feel pretty good. If not, then I don't care what 3 of them did, I need to work at it more (or fine-tune my equipment).

Nice shooting, I only use my 15-22 for run and gun with iron sights. So that means i get no where near those types of groups. How much was your scope?

I like the 3/5 shot group to demonstrate the equipment, distance, temp, wind, barometer, time, date, sea level. It gives me a reference for later shooting. I have been working on quick loads and 2 rapid off hand shots at 25-40 yds with my 375 H&H, 270 or 300 gr bullets. I have benched the gun and it will do 1/2-3/4" at 100 yds, so the fact that 2 of the 2 shot groups cut paper, the other 3 groups were with in an inch ( shot to shot ). I have been burning up "old ammo" working on my off hand, rapidly. I know what the gun will do so now the operator needs the work, but if you do not have a baseline how would you rate your progress, skill level, or note a problem with the gun. As long as you enjoy it, do it. Be Safe,
