Default Great idea

I found a video of a great safe way to clean your bore, and it's dirt cheap, i have monkeyed around with different things, but this seems logical, tell me what you guys think?

When dealing with firearms "cheap" is just not the way to go for me. Id rather spend the extra money and know its done right.

Just a poor man's bore snake, creative for sure.. maybe he will use cooking oil to lube the bolt....

Not knocking this, keep the good idea's coming, a little late since the bore snake has been out for some time now...

easy to carry to the range and run through in the field. It's just weed whacker line.

Actually this is copeid from a guy on RimfireCentral. What he calls "strimmer" cable is just weedwacker cord. This is a poor man's boresnake, which is why he called it a patch worm. It does have one advantage and that is if you don't like what the bronze brushes may do to your chamber in the boresnake (depends on what your barrel is made of) then it eliminates that and just gives you a flexible cleaning rod that won't scratch anything. Me, I just use a boresnake on my 15-22 PC model.

A rather updated version of the cotton string with a loop and finishing nail weight that my "Hillbilly" Uncle showed me 40+ years ago. When I was a kid we never used a bore brush and rod on our .22s. I do use a bore snake now.
