What comes in the box with MOE version?
Hello everyone. New guy from Virginia Beach. Just picked up my 15-22 MOE version on Monday - just cleaned it and heading to the range this afternoon. I noticed the instructions for the mbus sights when i first took a look at everything and reference to the sight tool and couldn't find it in the box. I was just wondering what all came in the box, particularly with the MOE version to make sure I have everything.
Quick Note: I sent S&W an email Monday about the sight tool and got a response within 20 min - they sent one out for me free of charge and I received it yesterday. Impressive customer service so far =]
Thanks in advance
-Ross

Well there you go! Yes, I haven't had to use them but have heard nothing but positive reviews on Smith's CS. You can adjust your front sight without the tool but it sure makes it a lot easier. Have fun at the range.

I just realized that my MOE didn't come with the tool either. I guess I was too busy playing with my red dot adjustments, and it went right over my head.
What kind of info did you need to send them in order to get the tool?
Thanks

Just shoot cs an email at [email protected]. They just asked me to send them my mailing address. Simple little tool but makes it wayyy easier to adjust.

My MOE came with the plastic adjusting tool for the MBUS sights in a small plastic envelope. Of course, I've about lost it every time I've gone shooting. ;-)

If there's not one already in it, drill a hole through it and thread a shoestring through the hole - and slip it around your neck.

Reading through this thread and I had to check the box to see if I got one. Sure enough, it was in the same ziplock bag as the gun lock.

My MOE was shipped without the rail covers, a quick email to S&W and they sent me out a set. Superb customer service so far!

Or keep it in the MOE grip
I have the front sight tool, spare battery and a coin (for making adjustments) for my RDS in mine.
Great, until last time I needed it and went routing through my gun bag looking for the sight tool before realising it was under my hand all the time! Doh...

What exactly should come in the MOE box when purchased? Does anyone have a list. I emailed CS for the sight adjustment tool and then someone mentioned rail covers, not sure what they look like but I am sure mine does not have them....

1 S&W M&P MOE itself (with quad rail, Magpul stock, grip and sights)
1 25-round Magazine
1 Lock with 2 keys & instructions in plastic bag
1 MBUS adjustment tool (in plastic bag with lock)
1 Safety & Instruction Manual
1 Warranty Card
That's what mine came with, anyhow.

The MBUS front sight tool is in the plastic bag containing the lock. The rail covers are Magpul ladder rails (3 of them). Here is a pic showing them on the front of the rail.

I assume the black MOE has black covers. These are standard inexpensive Magpul ladder rails. They just give a nice tactical feel and cushion to the rail.

My black MOE came with the black rail "inserts". I don't call them covers because, well, they really don't cover anything. It has a fairly recent serial number so I don't think it was produced all that long ago (just bought it a couple of weeks ago).

I asked customer service about the rail covers and they said the MOE does not come with it but would send me a sight adjustment tool! Its all good, not the end of the world. Still a sweet gun plus I would have gotten something else anyways down the road!

Exactly the reason I asked the question in the first place.
I find it hard to believe that a company like s&w would make so many mistakes in packaging. I seriously think shops are pulling the rail covers. Sounds *****ty but you never know and they're not cheap. I picked up the magpul ladder covers just like the ones shown and they're like $10 a piece. Pissed they don't fit the entire length of the rail too. Oh well. Still love this gun. =]

I received my black MOE around mid May, it didn't come with the rial covers either....it would have been nice to have but not something I will lose any sleep over. I'll just keep buying ammo in bulk and spraying casings on the ground.

Well, I found out that when you sweat, .22 casings will stick to you, so I have a fairly good burn on my neck from one last week. But the funniest one (to me) was when shooting my .45 1911 one day with my son, and he was leaning over picking up casings while I shot. One went right down his butt crack, and standing up quick made it worse, not better.

I had a hot .45ACP land on the rim of my glasses and burn an impression on my forehead.
Because it ejected straight there I thought it pinged me a good shot and bounced away, I didn't realize it was STILL THERE, cooking itself into my skin.

the ladder rail covers are pretty cheap, they dont really need to be name brand. i bought a couple sets and trimmed to cover all around my handguard that was open.
