Default 15-22 Precision and Consistency

What size shot groups are concidered "normal" from the M&P 15-22? I have my own group measurements, but my marksmanship abilities are continuing to improve as I become more comfortable with this rifle. And at the moment I'm still using iron sights.

I know EVERYONE on the internet shoots 1 MOA, right? So if you have some pics of targets and info on what ammo, sights, etc. you were using for each grouping, lets see them!

I'm interested to see just how precise and consistent some of you guys are with this rifle.

I don't know about "normal", but typical groups (all dependent upon ammo selection, of course) runs from 1" to 2" at 50 yards. The 15-22, even the PC version, is NOT a 1 MOA target rifle.

That's in line with my experience also. Some ammo (CCI Mini Mag for example) can do 1.5" groups at 50yds but Federal bulk is more like 2"-2.5".

For anyone that is having problems with accuracy, it is worth checking the barrel nut.

Same here, PC version, all gotten w/ either fed745, CCI minimag or tactical, doesn't matter in my rifle. But I didn't get it for target shooting either, it's just a really fun plinker IMO..

I can hit 2"x2" square swingers off hand at about 75m.

I was hitting 4x4" steel plates at 100 yards and that was good enough for me!

my 15-22 can do less then 1 in at 50 yards and about 1 1/2 at 100 but I also have her on a bipod with a scope and making the barrel free floating also really helped. The next time I am at the range I will save the targets it started to thunder and lighting Thursday so I left them out when i quickly left. From all the previous posts I think it depends on the shooter and the rifle itself , some rifles seem not to be as accurate as others.

I was very impressed with my M&P yesterday. I was doing a full equipment test on my SBR (Speed Bolt Release) from NDZ. I also installed a UTG Leaper 1X-4X scope. At 25 yards, I was hitting a 1" orange dot first time, in 3 to 4 shots, the dot was gone. I placed 4 dots in each corner and on each shot, took out the center. (I'll post the photo when my friends emails it to me on his phone). The weapon is dead on, I did notice the trigger was an issue and if not done properly can move my aim (this is where a 3lbs trigger makes the difference). But aside from that, since this is a Combat AR 15/22, it is more than accurate for my needs.. Keepem in the Xring..
