Thanks again for welcoming me to "The Brotherhood". I was hoping to make some friends on this forum, looks like I did!
Yes, there are some very awesome 15-22's on the forum, the pics thread is what inspired me. I have learned a lot about this rifle here on the forum.
dan01: I noticed your from Goose Creek, SC. We lived there in the mid 60's, my father was stationed at the Navel Weapons Station in Charleston, don't remember to much about it, I was only 2yrs old at the time.

I got busted yesterday when my wife checked the mail box, four packages waiting on me. I'm surprised she let me back on this site.... but then again she is still asleep!

Another welcome from the miserably hot state of Oklahoma.
WAF (Wife Acceptance Factor) is much higher if you can get them to start enjoying shooting with you. Fortunately for me, my wife was hunting fowl and deer before she was 14. Score.

Yup! I got busted too, about a week ago my mags arrived in the mail, I got home, wife asks, "Whats this?", I'm like, "oh..umm..well, those are...didn't I tell you I ordered these?"
Next day my A2 Carry Handle arrives , luckily I got to the mail box first, had too sneak the carry handle into the house in my sock!
P.S. Sure do hope my wife is not reading these forums

I sure I am glad I have a wife who doesn't think she wears the pants in the family.
My wife does not second-guess what I spend and I don't second-guess her spending, either. Been married for 45 years, BTW.

All the time. We recognize that marriage is a partnership, not a matriarchal dictatorship.
Unfortunately, too many wives think a double-ring ceremony means one on her finger and one through her husband's nose.

Yea, I'm kinda hooked on mine, too.
My other major hobby is amateur radio. She doesn't give two hoots about it, but she'll help me install antennas, pull coax and other such stuff. She's priceless!

Saw that at the LGS a while back, really liked it, want one myself, felt just like a Colt, just a little lighter. I thought it was made by SIG, but found out its actually made by GSG, think I will buy the GSG version, a little cheaper, when I can afford it.
It's just a lot more economical now days to shoot .22

While I have not looked at the two side by side, it is my understanding that the recoil spring guide rod is a MIM part in the GSG and I know it is a solid steel part in my Sig. May or may not change your mind...

Ok, the SIG does have the steel rod, I was wondering about that, maybe I will get the SIG then, thanks for pointing that out.

im not 100% sure which material comes in either the gsg/sig but seeing as its a known problem, there are a couple companies out there that make beefier replacements for about $25. GSG Pro is one of them and i forget the other offhand but it begins with a "t" i think. either way, id upgrade as soon as i got the gun and not worry about it failing anytime soon.

That's GREAT!!!
You got a good woman there.
I'm assuming you got the SIG 1911-22? (Im jealous )
I'm going to put my Colt Anaconda .44 up for sale, don't shoot it anymore, need to pay off a couple of card's and of course get me a 1911-22
I noticed in your signature that you have a couple XD's, I have a XDm-40, love it, only about 200 rnds. through it though.

yup its the sig and im quite happy with her. im in the process of selling my infiniti g37 after being heavily involved in the infiniti/nissan community for the past 6-7 years so she knows its tough. guns are my replacement hobby so shes cutting me some slack.
with 5000 rds of .22 for my 15-22, its easier to justify a plinking pistol so i can change it up a bit. my xd's are great too. i got the sub 9mm last january as my first gun and havent had any complaints so i added the 4" service this may when we rented a house together. now ive got a car gun and house gun with a couple fun guns.

My wife and I got some things straight pretty quick.
1. I can buy what I want.
2. I can hang out with who I want, when I want
3. If she ain't happy nobody is happy!
4. A wise man takes point three into consideration in reference to points 1 & 2
