New
I have been viewing the forum for a while. My wife just got me a 15-22 for our anniversary. I have already put about 1,000 rounds through it with Federal bulk, Blazer, and CCI tactical. I have only had 2 failure to fires (probably bad primers).
Plans for the rifle include ladder rail covers, a sling, and a red dot. I will probably go with a Bushnell or Primary Arms.

Welcome Aboard, but lock up your credit cards before the addiction becomes terminal.

Welcome to the addiction, from another desert dweller.
If you're anywhere near Mesa you really need to come out for some Tactical .22 fun at Rio Salado on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month.
They also have a Pistol Caliber Carbine match on the 4th Monday, I haven't done that one.....yet, but I will in October.

Welcome! I would add magazines to your list of things to buy for your 15-22. I personally have 7 mags for mine. I like to load them before I get to the range.

Here is the link to the .22 Tactical groups website where they post details and results: https://sites.google.com/site/tuesday22tacrifle/home
Here is the website for the Rio Salado Shooting range where you can find the calendar of events: Rio Salado Sportsmans Club
Tuesday night matches start at 5PM and run until about 8-9PM depending on the number of entrants. You do not have to be there at 5PM to compete, just show up and read the shooting chart and watch a few shooters to get the gist of how to shoot each stage.
You will need at least 2 magazines, the more you have the less you have to reload after each stage.
You can shoot it with iron sights if you want, but most everyone uses an optical sight or a 1-4 scope. I've shot it with all 3. Outside of dry firing it's the cheapest trigger time available.
Here's one of my youtube videos from the last match:
Tactical .22 match at Rio Salado: Sept 25 stage 2 - YouTube

I had wanted to buy the gun earlier but was told no by the wife because she said she was going to get it for me for Christmas. Since I could not buy the gun I already had 6 Magazines ordered and delivered before my wife gave it to me.
