M&P15-22 Mag development
The purpose of this thread is to show the stages of product development. I have been working hard for the past 2 months developing a new magazine for the M&P15-22. To the forum moderators I'm not here selling anything just providing information and pics. I know there are several vendors and product development companies on this site that are capable of engineering new products for the M&P15-22. I will only provide basic information as I do not want to give away all my secrets at least not yet.
There are currently a handfull of companies who manufacture magazines for the M&P15-22. I know everyone feels a certain way about each company in regards to quality, capacity, availability, and pricing. Those companies include the stock Smith and Wesson 25 and 15 round mags, Promag's 32 round mag, and Plinker tactical 35 round mag. Please understand I'm not in no way shape of form trying to downplay any of these companies. I respect each one of them and their hardwork to develop new products for the us. I Welcome all comments. So without further a do, I will begin with the first step. |
Step #1:
http://i1167.photobucket.com/albums/...ps42f6c4d4.jpg http://i1167.photobucket.com/albums/...psba44a45b.jpg I reverse engineered each part of the Stock 25 rd S&W Magazine. |
What's the capacity?
|
If these are what I think they are I'll take 5.
KBK |
Awaiting more info. As a note, S&W doesn't make 15 round mags. Their are 10 rounders and 10/25 rounders.
Looking forward to see what comes next. |
Sub'd.
Keep them coming and don't forget about us Kali guys who can only have 10 round mags :( Chad |
What is the result you are looking for? Or is this a surprise thing and we all have to wait to find out ?

Very creative. Who is he selling the company to?
|
I'm not sure if anyone has made an offer. He was shopping the idea around at the Creek.
Back on topic, I really like box mags for firearms. I'm looking forward to DT's design. Please keep us informed as much as possible. |

Here is my first design of the new mag after I had all the dimensions on the stock mag. Let me know what you guys think. Please keep in mind this is not the final render |
Looks like a magazine. :D
|
How do you load it? Most .22 mags I've seen require the loading buttons to stop your fingers breaking.
|
Looks like a double stack mag. :) 50 rounds would be stellar. :D In any case, I would prefer a load assist tab/button.

Probably not legal in CA:D but I like. I hope it works and is affordable. About 3 of those would melt the barrel.

It looks like the Keltec .22WMR which is a double stack.
I don't think the magazine is for the pistol.... The magazine is made by Shooters Ridge for the 10/22 |

Chad |
Black cammo.
|
What about Hot Pink for the Ladies? Maybe Black cammo or Dark Earth
|
How about Black, Foliage Green, Flat Dark Earth, OD Green, and cammo. It would be nice to have an OD green mag to mach my furniture just like on my AR-15.
|
Hi-Cap I hope :)

I have a daughter and a wife who will enjoy shooting it, and I honestly enjoy running pink guns and totally cleaning up at shooting matches. I get it is a .22, but nothing works better when people go "Hur Hur, U R Teh GayZ!" for having a pink gun and you smoke the stage clean. KBK |
