NEW GUY FROM GEORGIA!
I just posted this exact thread in the main forum, oops..wrong place?? but here we go..
Merry Christmas! I've been lurking this forum for a while and finally decided to make an account, I have an M&P 15-22 and I LOVE it! Here are some pics of it so far, It's not anywhere near being completed, I have a magpul MOE stock coming in that will be painted the same grey scheme as the other pieces pictured along with some Magpul XTM rail covers..I have two sets of furniture for it, black, and the snake pattern..
I have a magpul MOE grip, a tactical22 full barrel shroud, and a plinker tactical 35 round mag on order right now..
the only thing I have to get is a nice set of optics! I just have a $10 red dot on it now...any suggestions?
I only have 3 mags, but I guess I have to wait for all the fuss to die down until I buy more, theyre going for $100+..NO WAY!

That's an awesome paint scheme. I want to do something like that all over my gun just in little splotches with a dark green or something. I figured it would look cool on the black. Did you use a laundry sack or something to get that pattern?

I didn't paint it! I actually work at a gun store/range and a guy I work with does Duracoating, and I gave it to him and told him to do somewhing with it in a grey color..just make it look cool, and he came back with that..I actually like it..Can't pass up free duracoat!!!
what do you guys suggest for optics? and have you ever used the plinker tactical 35 rd mags?

A guy on here did a review on them here
Plinker Tactical 35 Round Magazine
As for optics, i have on order a NcStar 3-9X40 scope but right now im using a UTG Gen 4 Red/Green Dot. Nither are expensive, yet they work well.

im looking for something that will be pretty good for distance, say 100yds+ do you think the 3-9x40 would be good for that? I really dont know much about optics to be honest..

Welcome to the forum...a great place by far.
Nice paint scheme.
I use a Nikon Prostaff 3-9x40 and it works great at 100 yds...ammo can be iffy regarding great accuracy at 100 yds...My wife has a CenterPoint 3-9x40 on her 10-22 and it too is great at 100 yds and cost me $50 at a local gun show.
Most decent quality scopes are going to be just fine at 100 yards.

It should be just fine hitting a nice group at 100 yds. I believe there are a few threads floating around here with scope reviews and pictures of different options.

I'll get a quote for you to get it done from the guy I work with, you ship your parts to him, he will spray them, then ship them back! easy as 1 2 3! or just buy new furniture and have that done!

that would be great. It would just be the stock, grip and some 3 ladder rail covers. just let me know how much he would do it for

sounds good! what stock? the original stock?? he woould probably do it for pretty darn cheap..
I actually have an original stock and grip from my gun, the bolt broke on the stock though, not sure how I could replace that..but I could get them done in zombie green, and trade you plus the difference on duracoating it

Welcome from Cumming, GA. I just got a MOE FDE version, haven't even taken it out of the box yet. I got it during the midst of the feeding frenzy, while everyone else was worrying about a real AR, I sneaked in and grabbed one of the four remaining .22's and am glad I did. I already had some extra mags that I picked up about a year or so ago, for $16.95 each, OTD. I've got a Walther optic I'm gonna put on it and will report once I've shot it. Of course I'll be shooting it suppressed.....

Great looking rifle...Welcome to the community. Just got mine too and I just got a 3-9x32mm Plinker-22 from Barska on Amazon for under $40, there are more expensive ones out there, but since there is almost no recoil on the 22, this works great.
