i just cant believe people trying to rip people off and make a quick buck off all the craziness of a possible ban. just like ARs people down here buy 2 or 3 keep one and sale the others for double or tipple what they are worth and people pay just because of a possible ban. The only thing that could be band is hi cap mags not the guns its self. But i guess if people are stupid enough to pay out the wazoo for something i guess its there own fault

Not to defend anyone but the seller started it at $20. and the bidders got it up to that price. I'm not sure how that is the seller ripping people off, its the uninformed people bidding. If anyone has sold anything on ebay we wish for bidding wars like this to make a killer profit.

If I have an item for sale at 10 times it's worth and someone has an interest then purchases the item, It must have been worth it to the buyer. Who is being ripped off?

If I had an item for sale at ten times it's worth and it was still available from the manufacturer for regular price, I would remove the auction and feel better about myself.

It's an auction. The seller has no control over the final price other than a reserve price. It is a contractual agreement. To pull an item because one bidder offers more than another is unethical.

It's not the seller's fault, unless he has someone shilling the auction. There are a LOT of stupid buyers on eBay.

If there is a demand for something and the supply is low, there is a hefty price. It's basic capitalism. Some people didn't have ample stock of mags before all of this. Now they have to pay to play because the demand is so high.

Don't you just LOVE capitalism?....I know I do!
Another great example of high ebay prices is the BCM BCG for the AR15, what is listed at about $169 on the BCM website are now Well Over $300....and they are selling.

I supported my LGS today, vs Ebay...
Saw this thread and it made me instantly curious...
So I headed to my LGS, about 20 min drive, and low-n-behold...they still had several 25 round magazines for the 15-22. I bought two for the amazingly high cost of $22.99.
Perhaps I got ripped off by a few dollars (sarcasm), but I believe in supporting the brick and motor LGS whenever I can.
I do realize that once inventory needs restocking, prices might jump significantly. But Ebay is one of those places where bidders get into this "by God I just gotta have that" bidding frenzy; and prices are sometimes simply insane! Anyway, there are still a few here in central VA.
Regards, Mike

It's almost got to th epoint where the 3 Tapco AK mags my wife got me for Christmas (at $5.75 each ) Might just have to go up on the bay. They are selling for ~$50. Nah.
BTW, I thought ebay did not allow mags over 10 rounds. Actually, I thought mags weren't allowed on ebay a few years ago.

Let's just hope there are people that regret paying this kind of price for items like this in a few months.

Have y'all heard of 'shill bidders'? When you see something like that on ebay, be sceptical. On the other hand, you can test it by selling one of your own on ebay. Until you do, don't believe every insane thing you see on the 'net.

I was suprised that EBay is allowing the sale of any magazine that holds over 10 rounds. I was trying to sell a rifle scope and included a picture of it on the rifle and they threatened to ban me about three years ago. I deleted the picture and added a couple of just the scope and they left me alone.
Funny or not EBay used to let you buy and sell guns on their site but that ended right after the Columbine shooting in Colorado. I actually bought and sold guns on Ebay when it was allowed.

Its not really a ripoff when it is listed with honest information. The person who buys it is a sucker for sure, but they didn't get ripped off.

Ebay is shutting down these auctions. I had a 10 round and 20 round 223 mag for sale in one listing that they deleted. All of sudden magazines that hold more than 10 rounds are forbidden. I would imagine you'll start seeing them for sale else where.

I sold one of my used Model One sales AR-15's for $1500 on craigslist two days ago. Do I feel guilty? Nope. The buyer felt the firearm was worth that much. I didnt force him to give me his money. This happens on the stock market every day. Welcome to America people.

I feel smart right now, I kept telling my wife something was going to happen so I got everything I wanted while prices were sane. A 15-22 for the the little critters, and an AR-15 for the big ones. The good news is that if the critters don't bother me I won't bother them.

All,
well, I was trying to be good and support my local brick and mortar store just a mile from the house...
UNFORTUNATELY, he decided to pull every one of his standard and higher capacity mags...and they are currently now on Gunbroker.!!!!!
The greed monster bit him.!!!! So much for all the free advice I have given him on guns over the past year...he is a USMC vet...that decided to get in the gun business.!!! He calls me all the time for military firearms info... So I will cut back on bailing him out...and giving him free info... what comes around, goes around.!!

Thought I would order another 25 rnd mag from Midway to go along with my 2 10 rnd mags and my other 25. 4 mags is going to be plenty for me. Midway sent an extra 25 I didn't order. Not sure what is going on there but my invoice shows just the one mag. Emailed Midway back to tell them about their mistake but haven't heard back yet. I could have kept my mouth shut and kept the extra mag but that is just not my style and have found that honesty is always the best policy.

I just got boned....
3 weeks ago, I bought 4 extra mags at $16.50 a piece. Days before the recent uproar hit I emailed about getting more. He responded back and in 10 minutes I responded back with a confirm I wanted. But I never heard back. I emailed, I called, I called days later nothing... finally got him on the phone and the price we agreed, the price I first bought, was now jacked up. I told him, "you realize what your doing here" and he said, "yep, I know" and told me to "take it or leave it" - and then hung up on me.
I was referring people, I am not now. Not cool.
