Hey everyone! Just purchased my AR 15 22 Yesterday and LOVE IT!
one question though, Magazines Ive looked everyone (ctd etc) and cannot find SW Mag's. are their other brands that work for SW AR 15 22? If so which ones, or if anyone has a link!
THANKS!

Any magazines you get will need to be made for mp 15-22. Other mags that are for ar converted to 22 lr will not fit. I suggest sticking with smith Wesson mags. You can try and find a 25 rounder but good luck. You can sometimes find the 10 round long but they go fast. You can convert 10 round long to 25 with no issues. I have converted 8 mags to 25 rounders and did it in 10 minutes. It is super simple. If you look back you will see my post and pictures on how I knocked the pin out with a screw driver and hammer. Enjoy your 15-22 even if you do not have a lot of mags yet. Hopefully this crazyness will slow down in the next few months.

Hey grantnw. If you are not an NRA member then go join. They are fighting so we can keep our guns and money well spent IMO. Also if you are an NRA member then change your profile to show it.

fwiw, my buddy had some 32rd promag's for the 15-22 and they worked fine. The quality of the polymer felt like the real ones. I'd do as others suggested though and try to find real S&W 15-22 mags. There are manufacturers that make mags that work in the 15-22 but the reviews are spotty at best. As others have stated.. 15-22 mags are different and they must state they're for the 15-22 specifically for them to work.

Awesome thank you everyone. It's kind of what I figured. I'm now signed up for every "notify me when in stock" possible. Added NRA member badge, just finished my application for them after I got my Utah CWP!
Thanks for the welcome everyone!

The only place I've seen any is gunbroker for the 25 round and ebay for the 10 round. Too rich for my blood. I'm waiting for DT's mags to come out!

I ordered (2) on the 18th and it still shows processing. I noticed it didn't show out of stock anywhere. We shall see.

Right on the home page of ProMag it says-
1/17/2013 update:
Due to overwhelming amount of orders. All high capacity magazines are on back-order. We are still taking orders, but will take 6+ weeks to process your orders even if you selected expedited shipping options.
At least they are still taking orders..S&W won't even let us get in line with a backorder....
I have 4 on order from ProMag- hope they are ok, all reports so far are good, every other ProMag I've bought over the years has been pretty much junk.

10 round shorts are selling for about $100 on eBay. Might be time to sell and pay off some of my bills.

I don't get it...if there is a mag ban, it will most likely be 10 rds. Why pay so much for them now.
I cant believew that the NY ban is 7, how stinkin arbitrary is that number. and they wrote & passed it in such a hurry they forgot to exempt police.

Hard to believe that my mags ( only have 5 ) are almost worth more than my 15-22. Crazy
Bet Midway wishes they had me send back the one extra 25rnd mag. they mistakenly sent me at no charge.

Hopefully the ban, like last time, only covered mags from a certain date forward...if you already had them you could keep them, no matter how many they held.
Of course NY is doing it differently- doubt that would fly in a federal ban.
