I have read a lot of threads while building a4 of my new toys...

The only ammo I can find in my area in a bulk content is Winchester M-22...says on box, designed for tactical .22 rifles.??

Has anybody test fired it in quantity yet.!!!????

Range and function reports.????

If its good, I can get it at $57.00 per 1,000 brick out the door.!!

It's okay for the range, but it may give you a few duds FTF's and FTE's. I got a 2000 rd box for $89.00 at Dick's a couple of months ago. They still have them, but I think the price is not $98.00. It's dirty ammo though, so be ready to clean your rifle! :-)

As I have stated before, Try it and see what happens; do NOT depend upon some Internet posting to base your decision on.

In my opinion, I would not trust the M-22 ammo for any competitive shooting. Plinking and range practice, sure. But sifting through the bulk box that I have, reveals a lot of variation in the molding of the lead. Lots of rounds with overrun. OP, you can take it or leave it.

I don't think that the search feature works very well. I now use Google to search forums. Type the following in the Google search box:

site: smith-wessonforum.com xxxx
(xxxx = search terms you are interested in)

Also, you can always perform an advanced search in Google which will yield the same results.

Went through 240 rounds of the Winchester M-22 today.

Not a single failure of any kind.

My favorite and hands down most accurate 22lr in my Spikes upper Walther barrel in the Winchester Dynapoint GT. Thats what Dicks sells where I live its a little less powrfull than federal bulk but my gun loves this stuff never had a fff or fte.

M22 is OK in my 15/22, but isn't as reliable or consistent as CCI. It works better in my M&P22 pistol, but I prefer CCI in it too.

i'm putting it a notch above remington golden bullets--i found it to be dirty and unreliable -but hey try it it may work for you

I ran about 100 to 200 of these the other week, maybe one or two duds out of the set. Not bad considering the walmart price.

I've got several hundred rounds of this through my 15-22, no problems and great accuracy. Your per thousand price is too much, though - check Midway, maybe...

I like it, and more importantly, both my Ruger MK3 and my 15-22 like to shoot it. I shoot Steel Challenge with both and its more than acceptable in both guns. Plus I can buy the double pack and have enough for the match plus practice if I have time. The second box came in handy when someone showed up and didn't have any ammo.

I don't do it, so maybe there's something I'm missing, but who shows up to a shooting challenge with no ammo?

Slightly fussier than CCI but overall a good value. Been through about 2k rounds do far

I broke in my 15-22 with some m22 and some Winchester white box.

I went back the other night with some super-x hi velocity and I have to say that the super-x is A LOT cleaner than the other Winchester rounds that I tried earlier. it might just be me but that's just what I noticed with my rifle.

I think M-22 is just rebranded Super-X High Velocity RN.

Never had any issues with it myself. As accurate as any other high velocity round in my rifle. Dirty? Maybe... but not overly so. For the price, I buy it when I can't find Federal Bulk.

Shoots as well as any other ammo that I've used through these guns. I don't see it being any dirtier or at least not enough to worry about. Only down side is it's more expensive than Federal bulk.

Go for it! Just went through a brick of 525 rds. Flawless through my seldom cleaned 15-22.
