Default I want to replace the quad rail with a round one
Not crazy about the quad rail my 15-22 came with as I'll never add a bunch of extras to it. I really like the look of the round ones and wonder how much trouble it would be to replace. The one that catches my eye is a free float type. Anyone have experience changing it out?

Attach Magpul xTm panels all around and it becomes round.

Yes but then it becomes fat and round. One reason why competition shooters use modular handguards where you can put rails where you want them and have a tube as small as 1.6" or so.
You will need the Tacticool22 handguard removal tool, the alloy vise jaws, and the threaded adapter so you can mount regular AR handguards on the 15-22. This kit basically:

here is one place that carries it. seems like the same one anyways. i never bought anything from these guys though so i don't know if they are any good.

sound wave linked the correct site. I spoke with Eddie at glockplates and he was very helpful, so I would recommend trading with him. I was introduced by another forum member (oneyeopn) on the sister M&P15 sub forum here.
