It can vary anywhere from 6 to 8 lbs; 7 seems to be pretty typical.

Heavy and inconsistent from rifle to rifle.

5.5-7.5lbs from what I've seen.

I just did the "15 minute trigger job for m&p 15-22" and I'm pulling about 4 lbs now... its worth it and super easy. Youtube it and you will be able to do it in no time... hardest part is getting the hammer/hammer spring assembly back in place (a tip, look at it and where the spring catches in the lower before you take the pin out... that way you know where it should go back once you have modded it).

Is that actually measured, or are you guessing? There's no way you can get a 3 lb reduction with that mod. Not without introducing malfunctions, that it.

4.2 lbs pull measured. No malfunctions. I did spend a lot of time polishing too.

And 6 lbs to 4.2 is only 1.8 lbs difference. Not 3.

First thing I do with any new weapon is strip id down and clean every piece of it. While doing that I de-burr,buff and pollish every thing that moves. Esp. the trigger. You'd be surprised what that will do to a new weapon. I don't recommend that to everyone (some people can't tie their own shoes). If you aren't very handy, you don't want to walk into a gun store with a box full of parts.
