I have been able to get CCI High velocity at local stores w/o any problem. I usually don't buy .22 online anyway. The only online suplier that has other ammo is Freedom Munitions. They have a small backlog for everything but .223. Forget about that caliber. I just got 1000 rounds of 9mm and 500 rounds of .45ACP this week from there.

Online, in person, etc. if you're looking for a popular caliber be prepared to be disappointed. Most all my usual online stores are out of what I buy; the retailers in my area either are out or they've got it priced so high that I'm not interested. However, I was a Boy Scout and "be prepared" always stuck with me. I always buy more than I need so I have a nice inventory for times like this. I ticked off my wife and filled an entire section of my garage, but it all seems worthwhile now...

If you have to ask that question, you must not want the ammo very bad.

Doesn't matter. It was gone by the time he would have gotten there anyway. Guaranteed.

Walmarts are being raped and pillaged. I was standing in line in mine yesterday morning when the morning stock came in (I have friends). A line formed beind me pretty quickly. I thought the guys at positions 15-20 were going to kill the guy right behind me when he bought the 8 boxes of .22s left in the case after I bought two boxes. Like they were going to get any anyway.

Guy behind me was a total ***, IMO. Everybody in that line was looking .22s and he knew it. I was carrying and I paid my bill and got the hell outta there. It honestly looked like it was going to get ugly because they were all slinging loud profanities at each other and they weren't even trying to act like adults.

It's nasty out there people, and it's getting worse.

Same here. Always "Be prepared" for anything. Our Wally World still gets ammo,it's just in smaller lots. I've always picked up a little here, little there and am sitting just fine.

Yeah, the store manager would likely fear for his life even suggesting a restriction in your neck of the woods. :-)

We have a two box limit in Colorado, but that just started about a week ago or so. In 2008 after the first election of obummer, things never got worse than a 6 box limit. And one Walmart here just told me to go put the 6 boxes in the car, and then come back for more.

Ahhh, the good ol' days!

I bought 45, 44 and 357 the other day at a couple online stores. I haven't rec'd the orders yet but went back to perhaps buy a bit more and the 45 and 44 are GONE. It's only going to get worse if they end up trying to pass outrageous laws next week. Whatever money you were going to spend on ammo you now can't get, may be better spent with the NRA to fight for us.

Ammunition Online at Factory Direct Prices | Freedom Munitions | Handgun Ammo & Rifle Ammo is a good place, if you buy bulk of 500 or more. But the re-manufactured. It's literally as good as new, and will save you some.

Doesn't apply to .22 LR, though.

Default Finally!

My local WM finally got some 22LR in stock today after weeks of searching my area for some. I bought 4 of the 375 round boxes of CCI AR Tactical at $24.97 plus tax. I guarantee their stock is already gone... I just got there in time to get mine right after they opened the sporting goods dept at 9AM and people were crawling all over for it.

Just a tip for those who don't know... walmart.com doesn't allow you to buy online, but you can check stock in your local store. In the last few weeks this is how I found my S&W M&P15-22 and my 4 boxes of ammo. Good luck!

Time to squeeze off a few in the new M&P 15-22 today!

I was at Walmart today, and there all alone in the left half of the ammo case were two, 100 round boxes of Winchester 9mm FMJ, at $24.47 each. I bought both. They were down to 5 boxes of Remington .22LR (qty 50/box), and the two guys ahead of me grabbed those. (The Walmart guy let the second guy buy the 3 remaining boxes, which I thought was decent of him.) No .223 Remington. Still reasonable amounts of other calibers.

I told him I was surprised to see the 9mm, and he said those two boxes came in the night before. Amazing when a place like Walmart gets a delivery of just two boxes, although maybe he meant those 2 were part of a shipment last night. Anyway, he suggested calling the store every morning and asking to talk to Sporting Goods department, and they would provide updates on what arrived. Lots of people bash Walmart, but the employees I've talked to in the Sporting Goods department have always been super helpful and courteous.
