Machined load assist buttons
Hey guys im just looking for some opinions. I have a freind who turned me out some metal load assist buttons to replace my plastic ones. He has found a way to do them quiet quickly and is thinking of producing them. The question is would anyone be interested or should he not bother. They will just be basic buttons to help slide the follower down no fancy tool to put through them.let me know what ya think and have a great day

well, if he can do them quickly, maybe he can just make them to order? that way he wouldn't get stuck with an inventory.
i am pretty sure people who buy the 10 round long magazines would be interested. i know a vendor sells them on e-bay, but if he could beat them in price and quality, he may have a market.

Yeah i know as of right now he has 40 made and i agree with made to fill orders. He may jus pop out a couple hundred and when there gone there gone. Idk how hes going to do it . Also hes not trying to make a livingboff these he does it because he loves what he does so price shpuld be quiet reasonable.

As long as they would be cheaper with the same quality as raveneyecustom. They have an excellent rep.

First five people to email [email protected] will receive one free load assist button for testing but must review them on here for others thanks. All prototypes will be bare metal.

Email sent. I have stock buttons & the raveneyecustom.com so I think I could do a fair comparison.
I really think he should drill them out so people can use a tool that they have or make - like out of a golf t.

They do have a hole its just tough to see in the pics. He used my stock buttons for measurements but modified them for easy use with pull down pins. He was thinking of making a tool but wants to keep costs down for you guys. They are pretty similar to the ravens eye fron what ive seen online.

Prices are all to be determined . If he leaves them Bare metal obviously thyll be cheaper so depends what u guys want . Thats why we want feedback before we start production.

Good good.
Yeah the average guy can make his own tool; golf t, old hex wrench, skinny bolt, old screwdriver, etc. I don't use the one that came with the raveneyecustom one much so really it is not a "needed"part. I would say you need to try to keep them in the sub $2 or max $2 range for singles to be competitive really - and less for bulk orders. Raveneyecustom charges like $7.50 for 3 buttons delivered which I think is a bit much IMHO.
I think black anodized is going to be the way to go for final product. Good color, milspec feeling, neutral & no bouncing of light.
Ps - if you look in my mag thread you can see the black raveneyecustom blacks on some of my mags... nice

Well we know what the current going rate is so to be competitive it needs to be in that range IMHO.
I bought the 8 pack which got me (as he seems to vary his prices from 16 to just over $20) down to about $2,20 per button.
So I wonder - without the tool & marketing packaging & fluff if $2 is possible if he makes some volume. I guess we will find out as I know for a fact I am buying 7 in the future.... whose 7 will likely depend on price as it will for most people. Really look forward to more on this topic!

Raven's (8 piece plus tool) price is now $23.19, so I would base it on that.

That I am unsure of due to the fact i don't own any promags to try them in. You may be able to email the gentleman making them and he may send you a free tester but I am not sure. Other than that i wouldnt know until i have the mag and button in my hand.

kind of true.. he has had Buy Now at $16, 17, 18, 19 range and also had auction style. The higher prices came at the auction style when he was at the last of his stock. So, I would base it more on the lower end or an average. Also, his price includes a key... something anyone can make on their own out of many random items.
Either way, I think a goal should be not just to match pricing, but to beat pricing. If it is just matched, what is the incentive? I, and most others, will just buy whatever is easiest and on eBay with eBay Bucks, I actually make money on buying on eBay. So better pricing, that will sway people a direction.

Thanks for the update. Pricing sounds fair if they have a black finish. Waiting to hear from the lucky "testers" to see how well they work.

Good news guys he is taking orders as of now. For right now he will be taking orders through his email [email protected] while his website is being constructed. These buttons will work only with 25 round mags and 10 rnd shorties . These are not compatible to stock pinned 10 rnd long magazines since you cannot bring the follower down enough. (Buttons are in development to be used with 10 rnd pinned mags) thankyou.
Again prices are $2.00 a peice or $17.00 for ten.
Shipping is $2.50 for 1-10. $3.50 for 10-20.
For now only accepted methods of payments are paypal and of course cash.
And remeber i do not handle any orders or anything to deal with transactions i am just passing along the word but thanx guys for the feedback and support

yes BUT as is clear above NOT until you unpin them so you can slide the follower down.. And, since your in San Diego, CA you need to then reblock them. Get some blocks from Tacticool22.. that is what I use here in CA.
