Best Optics option TRS-25, PrimaryArms Micro Dot, or EOTech Knock Off
I am trying to decide on which optic to mount on my 15-22 MOE. I have some what narrowed it down (but not set in stone) to the Bushnell TRS-25, Primary Arms Micro Dot or a EOTech clone / knock off. Between the TRS-25 and the PA Micro, can anybody experience with these give me any feedback on which is better and why? I like the EOTech's just can not justify $400 plus on one at the moment. I have seen the clones and knock offs. Which is better? Are the knock off / clones worth a dang? And how do they compare to the TRS-25 & PA Micro dot? Thanks to any feedback you can provide.
Thanks!

I'm a Primary Arms guy, but you can't go wrong with the Bushnell either. The search function will give you a lot of info as both companies have been covered very well in the past. Personally, I'd stay away from any sort of knockoff. Between the Bushnell and PA you shouldn't need to stray from them to be able to find a nice optic.

I have used the TRS-25 for several years on a couple different rifles, including an AK-74, a couple AR15 types, and a Winchester .22 semi auto. For an inexpensive red dot I find it to be rugged, repeatable, easy to use with a great warranty, should you actually need to use it. That model is my go-to red dot for bargain applications.

I have both the PA micro dot and TRS-25. They are basically the same. The fixed based PA and TRS-25 comes down to where the brightness adjustment is. PA's is on top, the TRS-25 is at a 45 degree angle.
The removable based PA's are more of an Aimpoint micro clone and accept the Aimpoint base of your choosing if you want.
For budget priced red dots, you can't go wrong with either IMHO. Not sure I would toy with the eotech clones. Only one I ever saw was self destructing while the rifle was being fired. Lasted about 50 rounds before it finally had enough.

I have a Primary Arms on my 15-22 and am very happy with it. The TRS is supposed to be very good as well. No experience with that one on my part.
I would definitely say stay away from the eotech clones.... haven't heard any good from any of those.
For price, the Primary arms can be found, with mount for well under $100 on sale. If you are going to break the $125 price range, I may also suggest the Vortex Strikefire Bright Red Dot.... but that is in the $165 range.
Back on point..... either the Primary Arms or TRS are both very good choices.

Actually, you can go quite wrong with the TRS-25. Recently, I ordered one from BH Photo and when it arrived I was pretty pleased with the size and weight. That is, until I looked through it and saw a huge blob of sealant at about the 5 o'clock position. In looking through the sight, you didn't see a circle like on my Aimpoint Comp M, you saw a partial circle obstructed with a blob.
I went online to research this and a found a number of complaints about this problem. I couldn't reach Bushnell (perma-hold) and returned it to BH.
I didn't buy it for my MP 15-22 though (that's got a 3x9 scope on it), I bought it for my Buck Mark pistol. I'll end up spending a little more and getting something from Ultradot.
You get what you pay for and good red dot sights are going to be over $100 and closer to $200+.

I have this on my M&P-15 ; Ultra Shot QD Digital Switch (SM14000) | Sightmark
This one on my M&P 15-22 : Ultra Shot Z Series (SM13005Z) | Sightmark
I could not be happier with both! I set 'em and forget 'em . I was in Cabelas this morning and they had the Z series on sale fro $74.00 on a door buster sale so I snagged it for future use but you can find both of these in the $100.00 range on the bay.

I also was very happy with my Eotech clone. The only reason I sold it was I chose to switch to a scope because of my aging eyes.
