People use these in semi-autos all the time. They just have to rack one round at a time because it won't cycle. And yes they are for handguns and not long guns. I don't use them, but if someone is desparate.

Also keep in mind that they are much shorter than a normal 22lr because of the tiny projectile. If someone was going to try and use them you would probably have to put the round in the chamber by hand, I doubt they would feed through the magazine.

Which means it's not very helpful (and potentially dangerous) to post this in the Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22 sub-forum.

My Walmart drama included them hiding ammo under the counter, them admitting they were holding it for someone, and saying they didn't have it when it was sitting in view on a pallet and being told its in the back and if you have a job and can't be here at 7am sorry about your luck here is a link to a 4 store tour
http://smith-wessonforum.com/smith-w...#post137062725
I did buy several other calibers in hopes of trading for 22lr

They do feed through the magazine, but you have to pull the charging handle after each shot. There are vids on youtube of people shooting it from a 15-22. It's not optimal and can be unsafe, but it is not uncommon.

Thanks to this site my lil 500 rnd ammo order from Midway USA just shipped and should help push my girlfriends ammo worries a little further on the backburner. while giving me a little breathing room. My SGAmmo order didnt make it through and got cancelled.
Thanks for everyone who posts leads, links, tips. I spent a good while trying to "get lucky" and run into some stuff but there's none of that to be had. Sites are even getting frustrated and saying "WE ALREADY RAN OUT"

I played lots in Beretta 21A. One has to manually feed of course. The noise is low but major issue is not accurate. I now use CCI QUIE-22, which works great in Ruger 22/45 LITE but I still have to pull the bolt to elect the fired one and feed a new one.

I actually amended my order with them. If you scroll towards the end of their 4 pages of inventory, you will find the bulk packs of 22. The Blazer 525 bulk packs were even cheaper at $22.04 each. I only ordered two. Shipping is expensive BUT you are paying so little on the ammo that it still worked out to 6.5 cents per round shipped to my door. Also, I don't recommend the COD shipping option. Yes, it's slightly cheaper but it is my understanding that UPS does not insure COD packages if they are lost or stolen but i hope to stand corrected. Not worth the hassle IMO. Remember, this is a backorder and will take weeks but worth the wait if you can afford to.

Just placed an order at Palmetto State Armory for:
Federal .22LR 36gr Copper Plated HP 525rd Value Pack (1) at $23.99
Federal Amer. Eagle .22LR High Velocity 40gr LRN 500rds (3) at $22.99
2,025 rounds to get me through this nonsense.
It took several tries and multiple "Server Not Responding" errors, but it finally went through.
Thanks Gunbot!
