I thought we could post any information regarding 22LR that is currently in stock in one centralized thread. Hopefully we will have better luck this way.

All,

On the second, #2, link down... be careful what your looking at... 3 of the choices are .22 WMR... which is MAGNUM Rimfire... not gonna work in your 15-22...

the other 2 choices of the 5...seem to be CB loads...shorts... again, not gonna work in your 15-22...

I got 1 (last) box of CCI High velocity .22LR at B&T Shooting supplies in Mentor Oh at 5:15PM today. I found 5 boxes there 2 weeks a ago at $8 a box. I assumed the price was the same today until the change from my $20 was $9.46 If I had asked ahead of time I would have left it there. If they get more in I will let you know.
They also has a Ruger 10/22 there. 1st one I have seen in a while. The Ruger BX25 mags are still AWOL though. Even at the Ruger On-line store there is no info on when any will be available. I am backordered since 12/27.
If anyone knows where they can be found that would be good info too.

Isn't this Winchester Super X awfully expensive, at $7.99 per box of 50, even if it is high-velocity? I just bought two "10-packs" of standard velocity Super X for $35.00 each, or $3.50 for a box of 50. Seems like a huge premium for getting high velocity over standard.

Four Walmarts in my area have had Winchester 333 and 555 in stock in the last 24 hours. At one store I bought 4 bricks of 12 they had, and the next guy bought the rest, but I got all of the 223. It goes fast, but I think Walmart will be getting plenty based on the amount I have seen lately.....

I went to a WM in a different town because the web said they had some M22 in stock got there and nothing. But I did end up finding some .223 and 5.56 at some other stores that day on the other side of town.

I don't know how they divy out the supplies at WM but mine hasn't seen a single shipment of ammo in over a month.

I have some in stock.... but you will have to face me down to get it.

I go thru about 6 bricks a summer...being distributed to various prairie dog towns.

So at age 70, I have enough to get me through 2019.

Well, how did I get so much? I ran an ad in the free local weekly back in about 2007 looking for old Winchesters or Colts. Got a call from a retired and prosperous couple...ex sportsmen... steelhead fishermen folks. The guy was a collctor and reloader. Now in his mid 80s, he had serious vision issues. I helped them get rid of their stuff. It took years and I bought some old guns, reloading room equipment, a safe, tractor. Some Smiths, a rare Webley, and an Ithaca.
A year before his death they moved to a smaller home, and I helped out with their computer issues. He became suicidal so they sold me a #19.... he was frequently trying to find it and load it.

Two years ago she called me and said, "come over...I have a drawer in the garage workbench I can't get open." So I drove to the nearby town.

Well I tuged a bit and it slid open. She or her daughter could have done it.

She says, " You got it open... they are yours!" She winked at me.

It was 33 bricks of Wildcats!

This is a great idea...I have myself on many of the "notify when in stock" lists...I will let you all know if and when I hear something. I have had some luck with the .223, but none with the 22lr. I think this thread will help all of us in need.

I bought 20 boxes when the Federal 325 Value Packs were in stock on Cabelas.

Good thing 6,500 rounds will last me a long time, hopefully go over this ammo shortage.

Don't bother looking at Cabela's website. Where only a month ago they had 3 pages of their rimfire selection, now they are down to 14 items and that includes all rimfires- 17's, mags,lr, etc.

Cabelas does have Remington GB 22 lr 525 bulk boxes for $23.99. When you look at their page it says unavailable for backorder. But go down past the description box and you will see they are in stock. The way they set up the page for multiple products makes you think they are all out of order but not so for the GBs. Hope this helps someone.

and there is also some concern by others on Calguns that the 525 round count is actually 100 as 2 people called and got 2 different answers

That's what I am saying.. 2 guys called, both got different answers so 1 guy ordered and 1 cancelled his order as the guy told him it was 100 not 525. I suspect, at the price, it is 525 buy just reporting what I read (can provide link if needed).

I might as well mention this here, too. I called my local Cabela's phone number the other day and instead reached Nebraska, 1100 miles away. When I mentioned that I was looking for ammo and magazines, she said that the website was experiencing update problems and the only way to know for sure about available inventory was to go into the local store.

I thought that was kind of an odd thing to say since I wasn't placing an order on-line and the whole point of the call, as I initially explained, was to talk to someone local. She wasn't going to connect me to the local store until I mentioned how many miles I would have to travel to get there and back. The call was finally allowed to be transferred.

When an employee answered the phone I explained what I was looking for and he said, "the well was bone dry". That, those items could be on the next truck, he didn't know, because they weren't telling him anything and he was at the mercy of the warehouse.

So, with Cabela's it's hit and miss.
