Help in finding ammo and magazine
As the title says...anyone know any good reliable websites where i can get some federal 40grain .22lrs? I've went as far as to waiting in line at my local Academy Sports here in Houston and nothing!
I've had my mp15 22 for about two weeks now and i havent even shot one round yet!

You can find it on GB as long as you don't mind paying $0.10 or more per round...All stores around me are no go on .22lr here.
Keep a look out at SGA & other sites they have been getting some here & there. But you have to look daily & buy as soon as you see it.
Magazines can be found but at highly elevated prices. Midway did have some Plinker Tacticals last week, which I've heard mixed reviews on.

While the acronym GB is mostly known around the world to mean GigaByte, I think here it means Gun Broker. The addition of a URL actually helps ground the meaning.

NONE to be found around here either. I've got plenty but i always
check at Wallyworld and my farm supply stores in the area that
used to carry bunches. Your best bet is GB as stated above but it's
gonna be pricey.

I did a search over at Gun Broker and some of the returns show a yellow background. The key at the bottom, their help, their forums, their new buyers area -- don't explain the significance of a listing with a yellow background. Can someone explain what the yellow is suppose to signify?

When you list something for sale you can pay an extra fee for a highlighted background, icon picture, bold listing etc.
You have to sign-up in order to purchase, cost you like a $1.00 depending on email acct. type.

Seriously? They charge you extra for those things, like bold? Is it a dollar for bold, a dollar for the background, etc.? Naturally, the seller is going to want their dollar back. It's almost like saying, 'don't buy from me, it will cost you more'.
Thanks for the explanation.

No prob on the explanation.
It's kinda crazy IMO also but that site seems to stay covered up & they move some product...It's not my favorite place or even close. I do look alot just see price variations but have only purchased very few things. Only stuff I can't find anywhere else like .22lr.
Just for laughs look at what 15-22 mags are selling for, you'll love that!

I know, it's amazing to watch. I've seen short 10 round magazines, that have zero chance of getting ban, sell for an incredible amount of money.

Hey fellow Houstonian! Looks like you and me are in the same predicament! Anyways, I visited MidwayUSA the other day just to do a daily check up to see if they had any 22lr in stock, and they actually did. I bought two cans and left the rest (how ever many there was) to other guys so that could get a chance at it. What I do is, go to their 22LR Ammunition page, on on the left side where you can choose the options, un-check everything that's in the box labeled "Status" except for the "In-Stock" box. This will show only the ammunition that's available. It seems that they are getting a slow stream of shipments from distributors on 22LR. Make sure it's not WMR or Shorts either because as far as I understand, they won't work. So, anyways just check on it every few hours and you'll get lucky and not have to pay these insane prices that everyone is charging around the forums. Good luck! As for mags, good luck as well lol

Problem with asking for help is even though the internet is lighting fast, within seconds Your "help" is obsolete. Find a list of suppliers and check their sites several times a day and then jump on anything that is available. I dilly dallied a few times looking for better prices and lost out. Have an idea how much you want to spend before you look.

it is not so much about the ban as it is about registration and back ground check requirements even for mags!

I always check Slickguns | Best deals on guns and ammo posted by users (Slickguns dot com) multiple times a day.
If ammo ever pops it, it will pop up on this site. Bookmark it
You could also try your luck with Slickdeals: The Best Deals, Coupons & Discounts on Laptops, Computers, LCDs, TVs, Dell, HP, Apple, Amazon, but they mostly copy posts from SGuns

With all due respect, I think that's more or less FUD, since nothing has changed with the short 10 round magazines, and IMO, won't.
