Well this is a bummer. All excited to shoot my new 15-22 last night after picking it up from my LGS ( bought it on Grabagun)
Broke it down to clean before shooting it and was having a heck of a time getting the bolt out of the upper. It would rack back like the receiver was still closed. Finally after a few tugs and a pop it came out. Like flying out because of the spring being loaded up. Put it back in and tried again. Same thing.
After cleaning it up a bit with some FP-10 I noticed this big burr on the end of the rail! So I guess I found what was causing the bolt to stick in the receiver......
Ok so should I send this back to Smith or would you just take a Dremel and clean it up?
I did go to the range with a guy I work with and I brought the bolt to show him. He has a 15-22 as well and his bolt came out with issues at all The ends of his rails were rough too but no burrs. He said he would bring his Dremel in on Monday and we'd take that burr off
So back to Smith or use Dremel? Amazing how that could get through QC.....
