Default Vector Optics Ratchet

So today I got my first real add on. Most of the shipping places were from China but I found one that shipped out of UT. Got here in 2 days to VA which was pretty good but it did take a few days for my order to process.

I wanted something different. I liked the look of the open sights but heard about the issues with the sun outdoors. I was going to go with a Truglo that was hooded but it looked too bulky and made out of plastic. I liked the thinner design of the Ratchet as well as the sleek look. Only thing I can find as a con right now is that you need the wrench for adjustments instead of built in dials but maybe I can find ones to glue in. Still good for the price though I think.

It's all metal which feels solid. I was expecting plastic for some reason.I also was thinking it was going to be bigger than it is due to the enlarged pics on the web. I like the smaller size and think it looks awesome. The quick release latch gives a good lock on the rails and it doesn't feel like it's going anywhere. It has dual buttons for the reticles, one for red and one for green. The reticles switch by the dial on the back. It's supposedly water/fog/shock proof.

Now the real test will be after a few tests at the range to see if it holds zero after a few thousand rounds through it. I'll post a review then.

Next up will be a grip, charging handle/latch and sbr. The stock will be last. Though I got a couple of extras like bipod and foregrip with light and possible laser in mind too. We'll see....

And so it begins. Ground has been broken into the money pit that is the M&P 15-22.

Oh and i'm also liking the new Flambeau double rifle case too. Only thing is I need to find something to glue the foam to the case with. I comes loose but can't really complain for $37

I know what you mean. That's why I buy everything one at a time, ship everything to my work address and use BillMeLater...no paper statements!!

I have that same problem with my lady, but she turned that around when she put about 200 rounds through it and said when can I get my own or a .22. So now its not to bad... I have the trueglue alternative, the one you stated, it holds zero well. Its pretty durable to but was mostly in my price range why I grabbed it.

Yeah, i'm hoping to convince her to go to the range next time. The first time I went to shoot my 15-22 was the first time I had been to a range in almost 15 years and it was pretty empty when I went to shoot my glock 19. This first time back had me getting use to all the guns going off at once. Dude next to us had a Kimber 45 i think it was and to me sounded crazy loud. It was distracting. Took like 10 minutes to get use to it all. Then I seemed to drown it out better, it was all good after that.

I hope the sounds don't scare her off cuz I hope to get her into it and maybe even her own rifle or .22 pistol.

And to be honest, I would've gotten the truglo if I hadn't found this one. Most of the hooded ones all looked the same. This was $67 shipped which came out to about the same if I remember for the truglo.

Yea my shooting buddies wife is the same way she hates loud noises, has to wear plugs and electronic high decibel ear muffs. I'm not really distracted to much by loud noises, comes from working construction and structural steel work kinda learn to cancel out whats around you to get your perfect bead. Also the recoil scared my lady away, since my first rifle was the Mosin Nagant that has a descent kick with it, following a loud clap (its my thunder cannon haha). But after she saw the 15-22 has no recoil and is pretty quiet she went to town and was loading clips begging me to hurry up. Hope best wishes for you and your wife sir!
