So today I got my first real add on. Most of the shipping places were from China but I found one that shipped out of UT. Got here in 2 days to VA which was pretty good but it did take a few days for my order to process.
I wanted something different. I liked the look of the open sights but heard about the issues with the sun outdoors. I was going to go with a Truglo that was hooded but it looked too bulky and made out of plastic. I liked the thinner design of the Ratchet as well as the sleek look. Only thing I can find as a con right now is that you need the wrench for adjustments instead of built in dials but maybe I can find ones to glue in. Still good for the price though I think.
It's all metal which feels solid. I was expecting plastic for some reason.I also was thinking it was going to be bigger than it is due to the enlarged pics on the web. I like the smaller size and think it looks awesome. The quick release latch gives a good lock on the rails and it doesn't feel like it's going anywhere. It has dual buttons for the reticles, one for red and one for green. The reticles switch by the dial on the back. It's supposedly water/fog/shock proof.
Now the real test will be after a few tests at the range to see if it holds zero after a few thousand rounds through it. I'll post a review then.
Next up will be a grip, charging handle/latch and sbr. The stock will be last. Though I got a couple of extras like bipod and foregrip with light and possible laser in mind too. We'll see....
And so it begins. Ground has been broken into the money pit that is the M&P 15-22.
Oh and i'm also liking the new Flambeau double rifle case too. Only thing is I need to find something to glue the foam to the case with. I comes loose but can't really complain for $37
