So my 15-22 Upper will Pin on my AR lower thought this wasnt possible!
so i went and shot my AR pistol I just built the other day and the 15-22 and when i got home i broke them both down to clean them.Well curiosity go the better of me and i tried to pin the S&W upper on my New Frontier Armory lower and voila it worked!i Was sure i had read that this wasn't possible some where on this forum but i seen it with my own eyes. Just wonder now would it fire? I don't see why it wouldn't.

Please post photos of the result.
Personally, I fail to understand why people want to mate parts of two firearms that were never meant to be mated.

That would be what I consider ingenuity. Ideas have to come from somewhere, even if majority thinks it's crazy.
But I agree, pics or it didn't happen.

No, post photos of the result after you try to fire it.
And does the AR upper fit on the 15-22 lower? Try that and post results after firing too...

Okay, it happened. You've officially opened the can of worms! This question may seem silly but, would it actually function like a .22LR conversion?

of course the .223 upper will not work on the lower without some serious work there is no buffer tube buffer or spring but you could possible make the upper work on the NFA lower. I have always heard people on this forum running off at the mouth about the dimensions are wrong and they will not fit together the front takedown hole is farther forward etc.

I'm not wrong, I never said they'd not physically mate at all. And seeing as how this is the 15-22 forum, anytime this question has been asked, it's been about putting an AR upper on a 15-22 lower. And everyone has posted many times about the limits of that being a possibility. So guess what? You're not telling us anything we didn't already know.

I just double checked mine and they still do not work together. I suppose S&W made a design change for some reason.
